If we’re looking for a left footed Romero, this is about as close as we can get in terms of style. Uber-aggressive, fearless in duels, calm on the ball. Competent carriers. I think he’s better on the ball than Romero in terms of consistent long passing. Think he’s also a slightly better athlete and a bit faster over long distances. But very inexperienced in comparison to Romero and not nearly as refined in his defensive work. His base positioning, anticipation, and instincts aren’t nearly as good. Not great in the air either and with Romero also not being the best aerially it isn’t ideal. Romero had the Copa and CL experience but also his standout performances in both. Consistently fantastic in Serie A. Hincapie has had ups and down in Europa and in the Bundesliga. Some concentration issues and sloppy defensive actions (enough to be noticeable). It’s only his first season in Europe so to be expected, and there’s a reason he’s highly rated. He is a great athlete and he is very refined on the ball. His fit stylistically is perfect. Just unsure if his level is high enough consistently. Certainly a very high ceiling, and he’s shown some top top level performances. Just want some more consistency, and tbh that only comes with more experience. I’m confident he’ll reach a very high level with the correct development, and a move to a club like ours is the ideal next step. Maybe a year too soon though.

How do you think Hincapie would compare to Pau Torres? They seem to have similar pros and cons to me although Hincapie looks to be the more aggressive defender and Torres the better passer. Gvardiol looks to have all of the required attributes but unlikely we'd get him imo. My ideal would be if Bremer could play on the left but I don't know how feasible that would be.

I don't often get involved with this, but I'm not so sure we'd be seeing 55m for Lo Celso and Gil combined.
Given Lo Celso's form in the CL I think a few clubs would pay £35M for him. I also think Villareal will have earned enough from their CL run to afford him. GIl is harder to justify the price I listed for. But we bought him for £29M (inc. Lamela value), and £20M is a discount. I just cannot see him featuring much for us under Conte. I woudl also be hapy for us to loan him out again.

I've had a long weekend in Amsterdam. All the talk is about a forward called Cody Gakpo who plays for PSV. Never heard of him before but he's better than Depay apparently.

You could probably count on your fingers the amount of times our wing backs, combined, have put in a ball of that quality this season.
Not only that, this crossing ability would add 7 or 8 goals a season to Kane's tally. When was the last time he scored a header like that? Man City away is the only example I can think of this season. Heading is one of Kane's major strengths but we have not crossed the ball at all well since Tripper and Eriksen's firm dipped during the CL final season.

I've been keeping a very close eye on him. Good player who has an exciting future ahead of him.

Guy is quality. I just hope we have eyes and more on him, as our neighbours are in for him.

Just been on twitter, lots of goons commenting on him. He strolled through a non existent defence to score a great looking goal. Based just on that he looks like a young Chadli to me.

Apparently he likes them a lot.

“We are not the same kind of league but I think we try to look at the Prem and learn about it. Everybody wants to play one time in the Prem. I don’t favour one team but I like Arsenal a lot.

Bergwijn tore up the Dutch league to the same degree. It is such a hard league to judge players from. I wonder if we do like him whether there would be the possibility of swapping the two players. I'd be wary of spending big on a player from Holland again.

Same reason we aren't dick riding Suarez right now

I’m going to assume that Inside Futbal is a pile of poop. However interesting link.

Not saying that the club must go in for maehle, though historically I do quite like him. But I like for us to continue the trend of buying players that aren't coming off a peak season. We've seen how successful kulusevski and bentaceur have been.

Of course it has to be the right player that fits our system and we've been tracking for a long time.

But it leads to better business, with less competition to sign the player. Sometimes a player just needs a change of scenery.

He is an Elite wingback if he find his form again. People saying he won’t start here or only want him as backup are mad. He has all the tool. Lightning quick, can play both positions, can beat a man, dribbling plus shooting is very good for a WB and his mentality is elite - only 24 too. Conte and Paratici will love him. So will Spurs fans when he plays a couple of games(if). Don’t let if fool you that he can’t play for Atalanta, even our national coach hasn’t got a clue why. He needs a move.

Prior to this season, whenever I watched him I thought he was fantastic. Could just be that he needs a change of scenery.

Looks like that Bannister pilot guy is claiming the original link as far back as January.

And who's this guy? (Not Ornstein, the player. Any good?)

He needs to wash his mouth out with soap and have a good look in the mirror with opinions like that.
