Guy is quality. I just hope we have eyes and more on him, as our neighbours are in for him.
Let's be honest though. Players coming from Holland are very rarely as good here. Janssen, Bergwijn, Depay, Van De Beek, Sanchez to name a few.

You can name just as many players from there who’ve been PL legends: Van Nistelrooy, Van Persie, Stam, Vertonghan, Eriksen, Alderweireld, Suarez. The league is not the strongest, but Dutch coaching and development consistently produces great footballers. It’s all about the scouting and finding who are the genuine diamonds in the rough.

Trix mentioned Mahele ages ago too. Would be an interesting option as he can play RWB and LWB. He scores lots for country but has been disappointing for his club. Would definitely be a gamble but has potential to be very good.

Looks like that Bannister pilot guy is claiming the original link as far back as January.

And who's this guy? (Not Ornstein, the player. Any good?)

The wing back was also mentioned by ITK on here in the Jan window from memory. Probably where the george bannister chap got it from?

Atalanta have a very particular style. It could be he just hasn’t fit in with it. At least Pierre would be here to help him settle in.

And haven't heard his name mentioned since. It's definitely a very different dynamic now regarding hearing about who we are after.

Before you'd hear of interest and it would just gradually build then the press would get in on the action and eventually a bid would go in. Now it's the case we make our interest known the press hear about it quite early and then it goes quiet and another name joins the list. I think of the players I've heard most are out there now(not all) but I don't think we'll know the preferred target until just before the bid actually goes in.

Honestly no idea, bud. I merely got a notification from Twitter about that Maehle dude being of interest (Get THFC transfer gossipnotifications), and the link took me straight to what I quoted.

I know the square route of fuck all about Bannister or Maehle.

I know the square route of fuck all about most things ?‍♂️

I've had a long weekend in Amsterdam. All the talk is about a forward called Cody Gakpo who plays for PSV. Never heard of him before but he's better than Depay apparently.
Been watching him all season especially as he's been linked to everyone currently. His numbers are impressive, something like 13 goals and 14 assist. But for me im not wild on him. He reminds me of Chadli a bit, and i don't just mean that because he's a tall right footed left winger, but in his style of play. There's no doubt he a prospect but for me there is something about him that im not convinced by and i wonder if he would/will struggle in a tougher league despite his large frame. I would have no concerns about missing out on him and he's no't a player I would like us to target personally. I would rather we went for Rafael Leão at AC who’s a year young and a better talent imo.

Anyone on here know if Boubar Kamara of Marseille is any good?

A defensive midfielder, he's only 22 yrs old and has been consistently playing for OM for the last 4 seasons. In that time OM finished 5th, 2nd, 5th, and now they're 2nd currently this season.

Has quite a few U21 caps for France. And his contract is expiring in June/July.

Apparently the likes of Villa are linked to him.

Never seen him play, but on paper he ticks some of the boxes.

Yes, was talking about him a few pages back when someone mentioned players out of contract. Imo he'd be a great shout. He's a bit odd in that I feel like he was hyped as a wonderkid for a few years where I would see his name crop up often and since it seems as if he went under the radar a bit.

When looking at his stats and data I think he can do a job as a true DM but he also boasted some very good passing stats, so I suggested he could potentially be that answer in the Jorginho role (and probably be better defensively). He can also cover at CB as well, and still is very young!

Interesting, thanks.

I've said before that I think we need 5 CMs to rotate for a whole season of tough domestic games, cups and Europe.

PEH, Skipp and Bentacur, with 2 more coming in (or possibly 1 more and keep Winks or GLC).

This guy could be 1 of the incomings and even if we paid him £80k a week, if he's not good enough after a couple of seasons we would have only spent around £4m on him in wages...a fee we'd almost certainly recoup and more besides.

Not sure if there are better signings to be made, but certainly an option.

I also wish we had a backup striker that is in the Saša Kalajdžić and Wout Weghorst target man mold, someone like Llorente but with potential or in their prime. I just think that option is great to have when needed and would work well with wing backs
