I think an experienced player with EPL titles might not be an bad idea....I personally would make a bid for Wayne Rooney, just for he's attitude and will to win. I would also make sure he plays up front or number 10 and rotates with Kane and All

Alves scores a goal for juve in cup final. He was the furthest player forward:sneaky:. Great controlled finish!

No Zaha then. Can't say I'm that bothered. Not 100% convinced by him

Wilfried Zaha willing to sign five-year deal worth £110k a week to stay at Crystal Palace #cpfc. story soon at Guardian sport

There really is something wrong if Palace are going to start paying players £110k per week.

I doubt they have the revenue to sustain it long term.

Guardian reporting that Zaha will sign a new contract and resist our interest. Sigh.

Other than being 34 Alves isn't and wasn't the best right back in the world. Defensively he's suspect and no better than Walker. Other than may be Pique to an extent, Barca defenders past and present are distinctly average. Granted Alves has since moved to Juve but they've always been a class above everyone else in Italy. Alves will choke in the EPL... 34 and expected to maraud up and down the wing all game, no chance.

Plus he broke his leg this season and has featured in only half of Juve's league games... one to avoid.
You have a good point. Walkers probably actually better. 8 years younger, life in the prem and sell on value for years to come.

Can only assume Palace were quoting us something ridiculous or in fairness, the money they were offering was just too good to turn down as we wouldn't offer anywhere near £110k p/w.

In any case, I'm not hugely bothered - wasn't a great fit in my opinion and certainly wasn't a priority signing albeit I can see his virtues.

I wonder if you'll be saying the same when we sign another unproven winger.

And when did Zaha 'prove' himself exactly? I still remember the club matching its record fee for David Bentley who was supposedly premier proven.
