One of the hottest names in English football, 17 (soon to be 18) has produced over the last 18 months at such a young age - the numbers quoted seem OTT but surely people can see that it's not just the footballer but the business side of things would be a boon for Spurs.

If he is a top target and that is the player Poch wants then as a fan I am all for it. At the same time if it's Malcom all the better. It's win win either way isn't it?

Makes me laugh, people not rating Sessegnon because he’s not a dribbler, or doing stepovers. People play way too much FIFA and don’t actually watch enough football. Tricks and dribbling don’t score many goals in real life, good movement, passing and sharp finishing do.

I think Sessegnon will end up being a solid PL player but not hit spectacular heights. Imo he will end up like say an Ox. I’ve watched him a lot and the best I can say is decent. I’ve never seen him do something ever that’s made me go wow. He’s strong and quick. In fact I think full back/ wing back may be his best position. I just don’t think he has the technical ability to play further forward at a high level. As a full back I think he could be top draw but not a creative exciting player for me.

I would love for spurs to sign Sessegnon but if he proves too costly, i wouldn't mind spurs signing Ryan Bertrand.

Yes he is 28 and therefore wont have much re-sell value at the end of his contract. But it also means he is in the prime of his career and already established as one of the best left backs in the league so he wouldnt need any time to settle. And we will bringing him in to rotate with Davies.

If Southampton is relegated then we would probably get him at a cut price.
I don't rate Bertrand that highly tbh.

Not particularly explosive physically and never been massively enamoured by his quality on the ball either. Would hope we're looking at better than him.

He's not awful but not sure he's top level quality.

Just looking at the figures - Alli scored 16 goals in 39 games for MK Dons the season before he joined us. Sessegnon has scored 14 in 38 games this season in a better league.

1. It shows us what a steal Dele was.
2. Sessegnon is worth signing.
3. But as other have said the price is a massive issue.
4. Its a risk but its not that big a one.
5. I dont really know entirely what I want to say but thought it might be worth looking at the 2 players and their output in terms of goals.

You won't find any better at 17 yoa though.
My issue Trix is not his quality, but the money they are trying to get for him. It is a MASSIVE gamble to spend so much on one player at that age. I would expect Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Rooney-esque ability at that age.

I have watched him loads this season, and to be perfectly honest, I am nowhere near convinced at his quality to demand 50m. 25 plus million at a push. At that price get him, but more stay clear. However, we know how keen we are on him.

Why didn't go for him for much lower price last season?

Spot on, look how well Ox was doing at a similar age in the championship.

I hope Sessegnon turns out to be a world beater, but unfortunately can't see it myself.

The question really is how long will the hyper inflation continue? If it carries on, 50m for Sessegnon will look like a missed opportunity, but if the bubble bursts it will look like a ridiculous fuck up.

Good scouting and a bit of luck occurred when we unearthed Alli for £5m. All other teams will be looking who we are chasing from lower leagues and put greater focus on these players with the objective of competing with us for their signature and subsequently moving the transfer fee considerably upwards.

So why he now wants to move after one season?

He may well not if Fulham are promoted.

As for last season, he signed a contract meaning Fulham could charge top dollar for him as opposed to a tribunal concluding a minimal payment is suffice.

If he really wants to move and if spurs really wanted him, then we could have signed him just like we did for dele alli back in 2016 with a nominal fees. But I guess we didn't want him and thus he signed new contract at the end.

It is also said that Sessegnon wanted plenty of game-time. Supposedly a big factor in him deciding to stay with Fulham.
