Maybe trying to keep on the fans side and when sold blame it on the chairman
It's entirely possible that he's just telling the truth. Some times when players are sold its not because they want to leave. But Its because the club needs money or the offer was too good to pass up.

Seems there is a bit of difference between his quotes and that of the recent info we have received.
Its fair to say time will see this play out to a conclusion whether we sign him or he signs a new deal with marsielle.
Btw Im not knocking any itk just observing the difference in quotes (y)

Some fairly odd quotes here from Batshuiyi - you'd think he'd be more on the fence if we were close to agreeing a deal...

“My future is at Marseille. I want to stay. I love the stadium, the fans, the players here. I would prefer to make my mark here before leaving. My story with Marseille is far from over.”
Isn't that the kind of shit one says when a deal with a new club is sealed and one wouldn't want further attention from other clubs?

We won't do it, but even for next season - we need an old veteran who has been in a title race. Someone who does not need to play a lot, but is a positive influence in the dressing room - its one thing for the coaching staff to talk to the players on how to act, we need that presence in the dressing room also.

Today was another example of the importance of having players as good as the first eleven on the bench for when you need to change things up.

Chelsea needed something and could bring a players like Hazard on to change the game, while we had to count on Mason and Chadli. Hopefully Poch see the same and bring in a couple players that carry proper attacking threat against packed defenses.

we have an entire squad of players who have experience of being in a title race.

but, based on the performance the last couple of games - maybe not the right kind of experience.

The players need that guy who can show them how to grind out results, and how to keep their heads in a difficult environment.

I love our squad - but I think they still need that veteran presence in the dressing room - not necessarily on the pitch. Carrick is a good shout. We have a mature lot - they just need that guy to guide them along - its something that coaches can't do the same as a teammate.

Turns out we still need at least a striker and a midfielder, but we lose the title rather than top 4 for not buying them. Fair to say it is still very good result for us. But we still need to buy them!

LOL you literally mentioned Chelsea's worst player all season as an example of them having quality off the bench.

Hazard last season was a £60m player and this season has performed like a £2m player. He only performed today out of hatred of us

Every season people point fingers at our squad players as example of us not being good enough and say how strong our first 11 in comparison.

Worth noting that Kane(behind Ade and soldado), Dembele(behind everyone before november), Rose(behind BAE) and etc. being examples of not being up scratch with the first team

The truth is when you have a first 11 that is hardly unchanged, the rest of the squad suffers and are rusty when they are thrown in the mix. Most players need a run of games and when they don't get it, they don't look good

I was going to post the same thing, last season I wanted an experience player and a striker. 12 months later nothing has changed.

They may experience of being in a title race but we need experience of winning in our first team squad.

Next season we have to win something

When Man Utd finished 2nd to Leeds in 1991-92, They had 3 players that had won leagues out side of England's top flight (McClair - Scottish league, Schmeichel - Danish league and Bruce - Division 2) and the only player they bought when the won the league the next season that got decent mins was Cantona and he had just won the league with Leeds.

I do think it is worth noting that the season Man Utd finished 2nd, they were 1st with 5 games to go, but lost 3, drew 1 and won 1 in those last 5 games.

True but that Man Utd side was quite old as shown below, you look at the posts in this thread and people just want to keep our low squad age, low
data-graph-average-age-kids_3331610.jpg

Ours wouldn't be on that graph, as our average is under 25. Yes it will be a year older but we are likely to only have 5 players who are 28 or older in Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Dembele, Lloris and Vorm(though he doesn't count as he shouldn't play more than 10 league games)

Not to mention that Man Utd side did sign Leeds best player in Eric Cantona

Ideally we just need one guy experienced player who has been there and got the tee shirt and add that belief like Cantona did

It would never happen but Ibrahimovic could add that same arrogance and belief that Cantona did
