The noises around Aurier leaving now seem a good way to start bringing in money. I quite like him but we need the cash and he quite literally cost us games

I would rather Dier, Sanchez and Doherty leave before Aurier. Even if we get an amazing RB to replace Aurier, those other 3 will still be around to cost us games. Difference is we won't be able to place blame at Serge's feet.

Maybe so but if there is demand in him and we need the money it is a no brainer. Who the hell is going to pay us the £40m that Levy will demand for Dier with three years on his contract left ?

I’d also “love” serge to to return to PSG, 10 million euros ain’t that much to bring a replacement in though. Thankfully we have a shit hot scouting team in place though

I was primarily addressing your comment about Serge costing us games. If Serge refuses to renew his contract and has his heart set on PSG ( or another team) then yes, let's get some money before we lose him on a free next year. I don't know what value Levy has placed on Dier but if Daniel has been watching our games this season, it wouldn't have escaped him that our some of our CB's are unreliable. Maybe Roma and Mourinho can take him off our hands? Or maybe, and this is a very strong maybe, Dier can have a great Euro's which would raise his value and convince a team in the lower half of the table to take a punt. Very unlikely but I shudder to think of Dier anchoring our defense for another season.

Perhaps. Personally I don't think Dier will leave and that is a combination of his contract, lack of suitors and I don't think he wants to.

There is a long list of players that have cost us games this season.

Emerson
Tariq Lamptey
Max Aarons
Zeki Celik
Nordi Mukiele
Ridle Baku
Fabien Centonze

Any of these would be fantastic replacements
Did you put those in order of preference?
I don’t know the last two but in terms of availability I’m guessing Zeki celik would be easier /cheapest

also heard somewhere that lampteys hamstring injury is worse than originally suspected.

Spurs are in pole position to sign Lyon centre-back Joachim Andersen. He is expected to complete a transfer worth £20M. [The Telegraph]

Him and Tarkowski in would improve our defense significantly. Just have to hope we can sell Dier and Sanchez to make room.

Hmm good question. I’d say my order of preference is:

Emerson
Mukiele
Baku
Lamptey
Celik
Centonze
Aarons

In terms of price from most to least expensive (just my guess):
Aarons/Mukiele/Lamptey
Baku/Emerson
Celik
Centonze

Interesting about Lamptey, I’d have to look further into that, but I know he’s been injured for like 4 months.

The ligue 1 players would def be the cheapest unless the league can sort out a tv rights deal this summer, but even then with that and covid, they’ve been really hurt financially.

Absolutely love Emerson. I really do think he’s the complete fullback: tall, sturdy, powerfully quick and fast, aggressive, plays really nice forward passes, crossing, can keep the ball under pressure, aware of his positioning and opposition.

Mukiele for his versatility, athleticism, and defensive excellence. Experienced at the top level in European competition that the others on this list lack.

Baku has played many games further forward on the right and has more than 10 g/a this season. Excellent on the ball with running, passing, and dribbling, and still a decent defender. Very quick.

Lamptey is rapid and improving defensively, can beat defenders, but short.

Same can be said for Aarons (minus the top top elite pace) except he’s impressed more in the championship, but is more used to a back 4.

Celik has been even better this year than last. Scored some great goals, can cross, and really refined in his passing, both lofted and ground forward passes. Lacks athleticism.

Centonze might be the best defensively on my list. Tackling, interceptions, blocking shots and crosses, positioning all very good. Also quite composed on the ball and is a very good dribbler and runner with the ball. Need to see his delivery improve and be more consistent. Also wouldn’t cost more than aurier’s potential fee most likely.

Did you watch the game last night... I know its not fair to judge on a single game, but his positioning last night and 1v1 was seriously questionable... Reminded me if a certain Sir Eric Dier

One poor performance in a team that has been struggling for majority of the season is not a fair metric of a player's ability. Without Andersen captaining the team and acting as a defensive stalwart for majority of the season, Fulham would have secured relegation months ago. He's been the only bright spot in that team and at 25 years old, with his experience, passing ability and bravery in defense, we'd be silly to pass up on a deal if we're interested.
