i am really impressed how we defend in numbers these days. i can really see the fruition of AVB 's tactics coming together.

The important thing is we are still getting max points without the likes of Kaboul and BAE and with Parker only having a cameo role at the moment

Well that should have been a lot easier than it was...

Should have scored easily 4 more goals, and the ref has deprived us of Bale for New Years day (but hopefully he'll not be needed...) Clint seems to be the most creative player we have in the Striker/SS role now.

Special mention to Kyle Naughton today, great showing at LB good defending and passing.

But pass of the day goes to Kyle Walker for his outside of the right foot slide rule pass to Lennon (who fluffed his lines and didn't see Ade in front of an open goal) Shame it doesn't cover the rest of his performance.

Nice to see Parker alleviating pressure by, erm, playing percentage balls up the line to no one?

Thought it was great when O'Neil took off their most dangerous player in Larrsson (via free kicks)
Lloris also stood up to the barrage.

On the whole, a good performance that could have been a lot less traumatic.

First half we dominated and as usual we missed some gresat chances, especially Ade's miss. Second half we managed to get the lead with less possession, another great miss by Defoe. Azza deserved MOTM.

Good win! Was convinced that we were going to lose today. Specially with the day I'm having and then seeing some of the chances we missed. But in general we played well and deserved win.

The negatives were the two stickers both Ade (twice) and Defoe missed guilt edged chances which they should be scoring. I suppose on the Ade 2nd one and Defoes chance the keeper should be given some credit for making a good save but still you would expect them both to score.

Also Bales booking for diving for me it was a terrible descion by the referee Bale was caught and even though he went down abit theatrically it was no worse than what other players do in the box.

Positives we won and played well being the main one. Lennon's form i have a soft spot for Aaron and it was good to see he play well and score such a good goal. I thought Dempsey looked good when he came on. Oh and we didn't concede in the final10/15 minutes of the game.

couldnt believe walker giving away that cheap foul again at the end:ROFLMAO: but he is young i guess, perhaps not ready to played constantly throughout a season as he has had too many poor games this season.

thought ol' deuce looked good in his cameo, delightful ball that sent ade through on goal, VDV wouldve been proud.

both strikers however had their clown shoes on today.

If bale is banned for one match, then so should the ref by the FA, just booked him soley based on reputation when it was a penatly, hope he gets called up on this and feels like a right bitch

Referee had one of the worst performances we have seen by a ref all season.

This is rubbish.

It is no coincidence that we have started to play better as a team since Adebayor became a regular again. He missed a sitter, it happens, but don't start talking shit about the rest of what he offers just because you're angry about that.

Since he came back we have gained the ability to play higher up the pitch.

Defoe's missed plenty of very good chances, and even more infuriatingly continues to shoot when he has three defenders standing in front of him, when he could pass to someone in a better position.

Lennon does well to get in good positions and continually wastes them with poor or imperfect end product.

And it's not confidence with Walker. It's his lack of composure and technique under pressure. Naughton looks far more assured and he's playing out of position.

That was a decent first half performance.

Where's Vertonghen ?

I would argue that the team started to play better as Dembele came back into play, I haven't seen anything from Adebayor this season to make me think he was/will be the same player as last season. He has a true attitude problem. When he fell down today, he would lay there for about 20 seconds, and when he didn't get that corner, he sat up by the goal post with his hands up, offside, for about half a minute. He has been acting like a spoiled Brat who has not gotten his way.

I thought Naughton was excellent today - very composed and controlled. Probably our best defender!
The obvious thing we can see is that Naughton plays with his head up and he is actually better technically and defensively than Walker. In the long term, he will be the better player IMO.

Watching the post match interview the referees are driving Bale of the English game i cant blame him for wanting to move to Spain.

Yep Lennon and Naughton deserve the praise in particular today. Interesting to see Lennon pop up with a great bit of play in the centre of the pitch, maybe something we could see/try more often.

I thought Naughton was great. He's been getting a lot of criticism recently considering he's not in his natural position. Hardly put a foot wrong against a very tough front three today. Lloris, Sandro and Dembele were also really good. Ade and Defoe both looked a bit off the pace and Dawson really concerned me with his habbit of givingaway stupid free-kicks.

Delighted with the 3 points though, bring on Reading.
