What we cannot afford is to pick team by transfer fees paid, what our manager cannot afford is not to pick XI he thinks best equipped for 3 points on a given day.

Although apparently Levy was prepared to try and dictate AVB's team selection by salary.

What makes you think from what you've seen so far of him in a Spurs shirt that Lamela would come off the bench and make more of an impact than those two?
I wouldn't put Ronaldo on the bench either because he's shown nothing in a Spurs shirt

He hasn't had a chance.

what.total.rubbish :wacky:

even with ALL the injuries, Spurs' midfield is head and shoulders above what the swans are fielding today....

please sir, the sky is indeed NOT falling :stop:

and forget the Spurs quality midfield if you like, but that lacklustre swans defense with the back up keeper? it is Spurs seeing that weak swans line up who will be "well up for it" today -- to be sure!!! COYS!!!!! :jimlad::woot::singing:

we will see in half hour how much quality we have and how much better we are than them in midfield..!!! and as for defence i will be quite pleased if we get a few shots on goal in first half !!!! wait and see.

Nothing indicates to me that he is fit.

That is the other side of it and principle I agree with you. But the fact does remain that we need to maximise our investments. I guess the compromise is that the manager must try to ensure that those high value players make the team by getting the best out of them either through coaching or formation.

Because from what I have seen of the other two it would be an impossibility to make less of an impact?

I think he is. Tim doesn't like him because he's Baldini's pet.

Just feel really sorry for the kid.

What in Gods name leads you to believe he is fit?

Do you actually have any evidence to support this whatsoever. If you dont stop stirring shit up.

My evidence - Tim has said he is injured and no one official has said he is fit since. Ergo, still injured.

they are at times. and as usual you take post up wrong.. that midfield of ours does not scare anyone.. you put a modric or a bale or someone like that even sandro in and it says something way way stronger and makes opposition think we in for a game today and need to be on it.. that midfield is not the greatest and its either really good or really fucking bad.

it would be a better midfield with Bale and Modric. No shit.

Have a guess why Tim didnt pick them.

The rimming of Lamela on this website is quite embarassing

Im a huge huge fan of the kid, but there are 18 other players out there and i'm supporting them, not bemoaning the fact that a player who isnt fit isnt on the bench...

Lamela is breaking my heart, imagine his poor little face

If he was injured why did he play vs Charlton tea ladies the other week?

Soldado dropped then. He may not have been scoring from open play but he has been useful with passing and link play. We have to rely on Adebayor popping the ball into the net today then, at least in the first half.

The line-up could work, especially as Swansea are also missing some key players.

A bit of credit is due to Sherwood for the 433

He's taken a lot of stick for constant 442.

Of course we can bemoan the lack of a DM or starting team, but every game it'll be possible to find something to criticize.

At times for balance it'll be good to see some credit given even from those like me that question his appointment
I don't think that it is 4-3-3. More likely 4-2-3-1 ala AVB. But we'll see........

Very interesting team selection.
Townsend doesn't even make bench but both Holtby and Capoue does.
Whether 4-4-1-1, 4-4-2, 4-4-3 or 4-5-1 COYS! As long as we win!
Let's back TS and Spurs.

Conspiracy theories abound

I am sure half the posters on here are sitting around with tinfoil hats on.
