Yeah, you could be right - I'm pretty sure we'll see Mason in the CM position on Sunday but wouldn't be upset to see Alli in there either
Yeah both can do well, i did enjoy Mason last season though giving Arsenal a good kicking through out the game. Might be needed :D

Lloris

Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose

Dier Mason

Son Dembele Eriksen

Kane

Son probably better on left but I put on right to accommodate both Dembele and Eriksen as he can play both sides and gives him some nice variety so he don't get bored :)

I don't think it's as cut and dry between Mason and Alli as you suggest, but I do agree that if he's fit he should start. With Dier and Dembele around him he'll be less exposed and hopefully more able to make us tick, and I think he's much more suited to that role.

I think this sort of 3 man midfield we've stumbled upon is working well. I'm not quite sure what we do when Son is fit, but I don't think that's a problem for Sunday.
Appreciate your view, but I think that Mason is hideously underrated on here. Alli is going to be a superstar, but he's still learning his game. He's raw, and needs nurturing. Mason held his own both times out last season against Arsenal, and his passing and heart is something we need in the team.

Dembele in the 10 is awesome. I love it. No idea what we'll do when Son is fully fit, let alone Chadli and Pritchard, but we sure do have some options everywhere but up top now.

Agreed on Mason being underrated - Kane's goal last night (regardless of how good the finish was and the ball from Eriksen) was only possible because Mason was playing - his fizzed, forward ball through the eye of a needle to Eriksen created the time and space for the goal. His passing forward makes us tick, when you add in his tenacious tackling, his blocks and his passion, you realise how important he is. He's also had only 30 or so games as a CM (and having to learn the role in the Prem of all places) and is getting better and better. One of the first names on the team-sheet for me

I think Mason has massively improved this season. I wasn't that impressed with his passing last season and I still think that in a 2 man midfield he looks exposed at times, but his passing has greatly improved this season and his general impact on the team has been very impressive.

He's only had a few games with Dier, but I think partnering the two together is our best option.

I have to hold my hands up and admit that I've probably been over critical in regards to Mason. Whilst he does give the ball away in dangerous positions too often for my liking and still isn't the best defensively, due to his willingness to make things happen and actually run beyond the ball it's a worthwhile compromise. I don't think there should be a Mason vs Alli debate, both are very different players and one is markedly younger than the other. The choice should be made based on form, fitness and the opposition. For me Mason has to start against Arse, he appears to be fit and we need somebody with a little urgency to partner Dier in a game where we will probably see less of the ball than usual. The only other headache is Lamela or Son, Dembele must start. Other than that I think the team picks itself.

Lamela all day, need his tenacity and his pressing plus Son isn't match fit.

Yes this has to be the team. I like Alli but we need to b careful not to everuse him and Mason offers us more control with his passing range. Alli would be great to have up our sleeves for the last 20-30 minutes, as would Son (who is not match fit yet)

Son's match fitness is why I would prefer Lamela over him for the derby. Also, Son will be a great 60/70 minute sub against tired legs.
