is it me though or does our team look very basic. Even bale isn't giving me huge confidence, I really want him to scare the crap out of there defence every time he's on the ball, he dosent seem to have that rawness he used to have.

Wanger says Diaby, Rosicky and Gibbs out. Chamberlain, Sagna, Walcott, Arteta, Chesney facing tests.

All will be fit and play then.

I dreamt last night that I switched on the TV before the game and saw a three man midfield of Hudd, Sig and Dempsey. Worst nights sleep ever after that :nailbiting:

Which decisions have left you scratching your head? I am genuinely interested. Bear in mind of course that every manager makes decisions that are questionable. But mostly because we are not in full possession of the facts and possibly because nine of us have ever managed a top flight professional football team.

I am all for questioning and discussing decisions but a little humility would be good. You do realise all of us on here are losers and have never achieved anything of real note (BC obviously excepted) and when our time comes we will just return to being dust.
I didn't mean to convey a sense of hubris in my post. I'm well aware of my limitations - especially when it comes to football.

The only decisions I'm left questioning is starting Lloris in the league and then not again since. There seems little rhyme or reason. Also injuries have largely dictated this but he seems to genuinely rate Gallas. Maybe AVB just thinks we lack experience or leadership without him.

As you rightly point out though, and I have found myself saying to others here many times over the yrs, we aren't privy to probably 90% of the goings on.

Still largely positive and still maintain the earliest we can really judge, barring any serious crisis, AVB et al is the summer of 2014. Especially in the light of the major squad changes that have recently taken place.

Huddlestone as a number 10? Can I have a honk on your crack pipe?
In some ways it is not that crazy. Strip him of a little more defensive work, and get him closer to the edge of the box in that classic Scholes/Gerrard position, where he could used his ability to strike cleanly with either foot, and fire some rockets in on goal.

It wasn't directed at you personally. Apologies.

The Friedel/Lloris issue is an interesting one. Your point regarding Gallas may also be the reason he is sticking with Friedel. We can only speculate, but it's a valid possible reason. After the Chav fiasco, AVB is probably going to be reluctant to throw caution to the wind.

I am all for questioning and discussing AVB's decisions. But we should not jump to ridiculous conclusions and only judge him on the results he achieves over a reasonable period of time. For me that is at least one season, if not two, before we can even start to draw any serious conclusions. Until then we can only really judge Levy, and on balance I think he has done a very good job. Our ship really was sinking until he came along. Jol and Redknapp's reigns were actually enjoyable times with some real achievements. Ramos on the other hand was a tad worrying.

This season is a transitional one. Pretty much an entirely new footballing set up + the loss of Modric and VDV. Unfortunately we have lost to injury some of our key players.

As supporting Spurs is no longer a choice I try to make the best of it and enjoy and to be honest it shouldn't be too difficult for any reasonable person as fundamentally the club is in good health and good hands.

Why certainly, sir!;)

Two reasons behind this
- reduce his defensive responsibilities and he's less likely to go missing when we need him
- he's more likely to get sight of goal playing higher up the field and thus a haircut

Maybe not the best reasons, I accept, but perhaps worth a punt when we're short of options

lloris
walker vert caulker naughton
lennon sandro thudd bale
defoe adebayor

with arsenal all over the shop at the back and defensively i wud actually play defoe with adebayor even though i think he is cack... pressure them high up field for as long as we can and just after half time when hudd fades get some legs on in middle of field to help sandro who will need some serious help against the running of arsenal midfield.

if i see that team start ill be alot more confident than i feel now.. chances of that team starting??? hahaha zero

like last week , will be amazed if we get draw.
