I'm sure this will split some opinion but I'm firmly in the camp that we should be protecting/resting our whole eleven, or practically all of them, to play Bournemouth. Even if we fielded our first eleven we are not going to recover from a 0-3 deficit to a team of this quality. We must ensure we give ourselves every chance of beating Bournemouth, given our run of games afterwards.

A few of the big hitters on the bench just in case - you never know sort of thing. Dier, Toby, Alli and Dembele given a complete night off. I'm sure Bentaleb won't start, but I'd like to see him do so just to see how he goes and if he's got the right attitude to give his all.

Lloris

Trippier
CCV
Wimmer
Davies

Carroll
Bentaleb

Onomah
Mason
Chadli

Son

Subs: Vorm, Walker. Rose, Winks, Lamela, Eriksen, Kane

Vorm and the next best youth CB and you're on the money.

All kids on the bench though.

Just play Bentaleb Mauricio, I need to know there is still hope for him.

Such a strange one this an integral part of a top 5 side last season that got to a cup final and many great displays.

Played at left back on last day of season expertly, looks one of the best young players in the league.

Signs new contract, makes mistake in first game of season, gets mystery ankle injury that keeps him away for months.

Talk of unrest but Sherwood and many others talk of a good attitude.

Now struggles to make the bench. Crazy to think the Bentaleb/Mason pairing that looked so promising last season has hardly been seen at all. Funny how things work out.

I really hope there is a way back for Nabil and he wants to take it. Also if the ankle injury is a real serious thing I hope he's not been damaged here.

Have no problem with Dier, Alli, Dembele, Onomah, Carroll stepping up it's great but it is surreal Bentaleb is not even seen as a rotation option having kept many of the above out of the side last season.

Dier had a rest last week so think he should play this one to allow Toby a night off. Don't ever want to see a Caroll/Mason midfield combo again (against this sort of oppo), so:

Vorm

Trippier
Dier
Wimmer
Davies

Nabil
Mason

Son
Lamela
Onomah

Chadli

We are going for the title. We are going out of the Europa league. Its now all about getting 3 points against Bournemouth. If we could rest Alderweireld or Wimmer I would, but feel throwing in Carter-Vickers for his debut is abit reckless.

Vorm; Trippier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Davies; Bentaleb, Mason; Onomah, Carroll, Chadli; Son

I was really up for the Dortmund tie but having been well beaten last week I find I am not that upset, I'm going on Thursday but I feel like making a party of it as our title chances have improved enormously, I'd go with the same team to let them get some revenge maybe.

No chance we come back from 3-0 against BVB, game was lost in first leg. As much as this really angers me I would probably go for a b team again.

I understand the logic of resting players, but if we get an early goal, isn't anything possible? Think back to when we beat Inter 3-0 in the ropey league. They then went on to beat us 3-0 and take us to extra time. We didn't deserve to go through that night I don't think.

My point is, why not give this a go anyway? If we get knocked out then that's fine, at least we gave it a go and we don't have this situation again for the run in

p.s. this DEFINITELY has NOTHING to do with the fact I'm attending on Thursday, I promise
No offence mate but it is fans with this amateur attitude that put the manager under pressure to waste players' energy and risk their fitness.

It is one thing to win a random game by 3 goals. It is a whole different kettle of fish to win a game by 3 goals (just to get extra time). When the opposing team can afford to concede 2 while absolutely NOT concede ourselves when the opposing team are one of the best organised teams in Europe (and indeed are German) on a small pitch like WHL

And all to earn the privilege of playing 5 more games to further endanger our top four/title bid when CL next season is almost certainly already in the bag

Nonsense

I'd rather not go and watch a second string get battered, but to each their own. Almost certainly Dortmund will score therefore no extra time/penalties. The Bournemouth game isn't away either, it's two home games meaning ZERO travel. I just want us to give it a go and try and win on the night. Will take a win with them scoring because that proves we are capable of beating them.

I'm leaning towards fielding a really light team, and if Leicester lose tonight, I will be hoping for a really light team.

There is no way we will see a strong team. Poch made his feelings known about where priorities lie last week.
A few BVB fans I know here were disappointed that we played such an under strength team last Thursday, but understood that we were prioritising the league, especially given how it is playing out and the fact that even had we beaten BVB, its we would only then be in the Quarter Finals and likely in another utterly sapping game.

We are a very young squad and had we been floating around fourth and having a normal season, then I am sure we would have seen a much stronger outfit, but we have a big chance to make a huge statement in the league. I know many think of the cups and the glory and rightly so, but Levy I am sure is thinking about the implications of sponsorship deals, shirt and stadium naming if we were League winners!

New players too... we won't just promote from within, but will look to recruit serious layers who can improve us and that is much easier if you are a CL team and even more so if you are actually EPL title chasers (yeah money helps, but see sponsorship remark).

I loved the idea of a glamour tie against BVB, but I think the powers that be have probably taken a decision that they believe will pay off more in the mid to long term and as that resulted in the 3-0 loss last Thursday, i think its fair to say we will see much of the same this Thursday. Just sing that we will get our revenge in the CL!

I tried to buy tickets for this, and in some ways glad I failed. to even have the slimest of chances in this tie we would have to field our strongest 11, and hope we got a great start, now though really thinking hard, to do it we would most probably have to play an extra 30 mins to even have a chance, and fitness wise with an important match v Bournemouth, that is something we really don't need.

I just hope for those going they see a better performance, and see us pick up a win of some sort, but it has to be with a much rotated squad, don't want to see Toby, Dier, Dembele, Alli, Eriksen or Kane in the starting line up, and if it can be avoided even using any of them as subs. the only trouble is I hope we don't suffer an embarrassing defeat

Basically a similar team to the first leg, which is almost certainly what he will do.

Anything less would be disrespectful to the competition, the club, the fans and even to Dortmund. If we were to field an even weaker team then the thorough pummelling which would ensue could be extremely detrimental to our burgeoning reputation in Europe.

Good news is Leicester don't "need" to lose, a draw is as good as for us due to GD.
Well, we don't know that yet, do we. There is a difference between 3 and 2 points gap at this point. What if we end up fetching two points more than them after tonight, then a draw or a loss today is a crucial difference.

Of course, of course... And I would prefer Leicester to lose. I was just saying that Leicester only drawing this one is positive enough for now as it puts us back into one win more territory, just as equally as Leicester losing and is more likely given that it is Newcastle.

I don't think that we have any chance whatsoever of overturning the result. I'm not being negative here because I'm not the type, I'm simply being realistic. Hence, I believe we should go with a second string team and try to keep the result respectable as much as we can. After all, I do think that Dortmund are not going out all guns blazing for this one as they also know that the tie is all but done and dusted.
Keep our most valuable players out to rest and refresh for the tail end of the PL season. We now need to ensure that we don't destroy all the good momentum we have built in a very good season, enforce the stability and the belief of this young Spurs team.
