There's no way (IMO) he picks the weakest team he can as some are suggesting he should.

Some of you might as well start throwing your tantrums now :p

EDIT: In fact, i'm going to make triple sure i'm in the match thread when the teams are announced, it'll be hugely entertaining.

I am already offended at the mere thought of him picking a strong team, I will be avoiding the match day thread but I will say this now, if he does then he has lost the plot.

Trying to overturn a 3-0 without conceding a goal against one of the best teams in world football would require a full strength side and a massive effort, physically and mentally on the players part, not to mention how it would affect our preparation for Bournemouth.

It is ridiculous when you consider we have a game against the fittest team in the league at the weekend which we cannot afford to drop points against considering Leicester are already 5 ahead of us.

If we draw or lose to Bournemouth and Leicester win against Palace that could put them 7-8 points clear of us.

The title will be gone then IMO. We simply cannot afford to take the risk against Dortmund, it would be stupid on the managers part.

Bill Nicholson would be turning in his grave at most of you.

Footballers should be able to play a match at home then again 3 days later the best teams in the world like Barcelona play the likes of Messi every week and I'm sure he doesn't bitch for a rest.

They aren't machines and we play a very aggressive pressing style of football, this isn't even a fair comparison is it?

Also it's about common sense and probability, sure we could play a full strength team and we might turn them over but do you want to take that risk?

Imagine if we play full strength end up losing and then end up losing to Bournemouth because the players are knackered? What would you rather win? The PL or the EL? Because this team and this squad isn't strong enough realistically to win both.

I don't know what I'd do if I was Poch on this one...I'd be tempted to go full strength and see where we are at half time. If say we managed to get 2 back and seem relatively comfortable then it might be worth the extra push to go on and win. If it 0-0 and looking more impossible than it already does, then pull off (fnarr fnarr) the likes of Kane, Lamela and maybe Dier.

It's a tricky one - he's kind of damned if does and damned if he doesn't on this one but I feel he kind of shot himself in the foot with last weeks selections :(

Still...COYS...it's only bloody Dortmund...lets destroy them.

Than be ready to get offended as Poch will field a strong team though he is predicted to leaving around 5 teamers out.

Go for broke in my opinion.

Strongest team out, see how we do. If we go out, having tried our best, then positive.

If we roll over and give up - pathetic and could do more damage than good.

Worry about the weekend after tonight.

Suspect it will be a strong team with a few 'first' teamers being rotated.

the negative effect of going out with a whimper just like we did in the League cup against the scum & the FA against Palace can effect players league form too as has been seen many times & I'd also like to say using Messi and Barcelona is a very fair comparison considering they're probably the best side in the world when it comes to pressing teams high up the pitch & maintaining possession.

I think we will put another weak team out today lose & that in no way guarantees us a win against Bournemouth & then because of bad team selections in our cup games we can celebrate winning nothing again another year.

Play our strongest side beat them and go on and win the Europa league, let the title take care of itself.
Alternatively play the same team as the first leg, allow them to redeem themselves beat them and go on and win the Europa league play our best team on Sunday and win the title.
Take your pick.
I suspect it will be a mix of the two.

By your logic, we must the second fittest team then, and since 2016, the fittest. You can't use that logic to apply to Bournemouth but argue for our tiredness.

If Poch was going to go for it he would've fielded a full strength team in the first leg. We pretty much threw this competition in that game, so don't expect much tonight.

Which, in my opinion, is the first thing Poch has done that I've disapproved of.

I had a dream last night - I went to the pub to watch the match but got there late. Spurs were 6-0 up with 60 minutes played.

I'm not sure I can read much into it though as Jermaine Defoe was playing for us...

I had a dream that Defoe won us the Champions Leage with hat trick in the final, we were sponsored by BT and played in a awesome looking sky blue kit a la 82 away but much micer.. It was all so real..

Fuck dreams believe in real life! :D

My point is over recent weeks we have covered less ground, our pressing has dropped off and our performances have suffered, Bournemouth have only improved...

Bournemouth have won the third most points since 1st Dec. We have a unique (certainly in my 47 years of watching Spurs) chance to win the league. That is all that matters.
When i saw the team for the first leg i was delighted. "Yes, Poch understands."
Let's rest everyone.
Eyes on the prize.

Going by the comments made by the manager himself below, he trusts the players he picked in the first leg so I doubt we'll see too many changes.

”I believe in my squad and for one negative result now it has not changed my vision of them,” Pochettino said.

”Sometimes it is difficult and I accept in a very good way the criticism because always in football if you win you are a genius, if not, you are a disaster.

”For me it is important to keep all players motivated. All players are important. It is not only to say it, it is important to show I believe in them.

Or alternatively not prioritising those cup competitions we have put ourselves second with a real chance of winning the league this year.

Agree with others. It will be a strong team, certainly stronger than what I and many others are hoping for. A few big guns rested like he's already alluded to with Dembele/Eriksen.

Personally I just don't see the point, the tie is over. We don't know the extent of fatigue within the group but it just reduces our chances of beating Bournemouth on Sunday, be it a small bit or by quite a bit, it just does. We might end up winning regardless of what team starts tonight, but I just think we should be giving ourselves every chance of beating a very hard working and honest side in Bournemouth. This lot aren't shy of putting in the hard yards, as the stats suggest, and any kind of jaded performance against them and we're going to know all about it.
