It's going to be interesting to see what Poch does next week. Going to be hard to do what we did against them at WHL and match them man for man and squeeze them, on that big Wembley pitch. Lots of space for them to launch those rapier like counter attacks they rely on...

Just a sidenote.....yesterday we started as a 4231 on paper but often became a 3412. Could this be poch trying it out with chelsea in mind to try accomodate son?

Dier has always dropped off to form a back 3 when we play 4-2-3-1.

Drop Son. 3-5-2.

It is harsh but we've got the opportunity here to really start "rotating" like the Manchester United of old. I put it in quotes as actually it's more a changing of the team dependant on the opposition.

Son in, dier DM. Perhaps even tripper in for walker against the weaker teams who are just going to sit.

Wanyama in, Son out for the more dangerous opposition.

We've never had options like this for as long as i can remember.

They've massively missed alonso today. Would be great if he is still out for the weekend

I don't get why it is wtf-level to suggest Son is better than Alli.

Has everyone got their semi tickets that are going? Mine have not arrived yet, think I need to call the club as someone else I know had theirs weeks ago I've just found out.

I'd have said 3 at the back this morning but having seen how United nullified them playing with a flat back four, I'm not so sure.

Wembley is five yards longer and two yards wider than WHL apparently.

I always think it's much much bigger but it's probably more to do with the arena being bigger and being further from the pitch that gives off the impression that it's the size of an airfield.
The case for Wembley being draining actually sounds like the surface as opposed to the size of the pitch.

Son is a confidence player. When he's on a goal scoring run like he has been, he needs to keep playing. I know he's scored a couple goals off the bench this year, but over the course of his career, he's never been the same player when used off the bench as opposed to when he starts. We need his pace to run at their defenders a bit, who looked nervy dealing with Rashford today.

Personally would go with Trippier over Walker. Not as quick but end product so much more effective.
Not at Wembley on the big pitch. We need Walkers pace especially against Hazard. I would play Tripier over Walker in our home games against lesser opposition though.

I do think the way to beat Chelsea is to get at their back line with pace. Luiz still vulnerable, Cahill not quick and their full backs are usually high up the pitch. Win the ball and quickly break.

Son has been delivering end results from the high press very effectively recently.

Poch will also have one eye on the Palace game as well. Obviously Chelsea game comes first but if Son doesn't start he sure as will against Palace.

I'd start son with rose still out. He gives pace on the left and his work rate has come on tracking down and helping out davies.
With dier we can also swap formations during the game making us difficult to predict.
