Three at the back simply isn't as effective without Rose. So the logical thing to do is play a back four. Next choice after that is who partners Dembele in the midfield two. Dier or Wanyama. One is better defensively, the other has a better range of passing. I don't see why you'd tamper with the front four right now. All of them are playing so well together. Working so hard. Looking so dangerous. If I was Chelsea and saw we were going with a back three without Rose and dropping Son, I'd be pretty happy. But starting our front four will give them pause. I also think that Wanyama owns Kante. So, the odd one out is Dier.

Just give him the ball and let him do that little dance routine he perfected on the edge of the Bournemouth area on Saturday.
OK I'm convinced. He can take a penalty too.

Doing something novel like this in a game like this is pure Kevin Keegan territory. Always whiffs of confusion, rarely works, rarely necessary, over-complicates something that needn't be complicated, disrupts normal routine. Absolutely no to any messing around like this for me.

It's not really novel as Verts has played for us at LB before.

Verts has the better experience to handle the Chelsea players than Davies does.

I'm not sure if you disagree with me, but I think, of all the players that may start, Davies is the weakest link and we should get the best available players to start this one-off semi-finals against a team that has lots of experienced quality players.

You get and extra sub in extra time so I'd get Janssen on just to take a pen
We will be really going for it if Kane, Janssen, Son, Alli and Erikson are all still on the pitch.
On reconsideration, I think the team we saw at the end of the Bournemouth game will be more like our extra time team - Janssen, Son and 7 defenders/defensive midfielders.

Revised penalty takers:
1. Sonny (right in the corner)
2. Dier (Blast)
3. Sissoko (X)
4. Janssen (in off both posts)
5. Vertonghen (rolls it opposite side to keeper and is mobbed)

I was thinking that if Poch thought the team that got to ET would do it he would then bring on Janssen for a defender in the last minute purely for pens

Is it just me that thinks that if we're winning I would be a good idea to bring someone on to put Hazard out for the season?

Horrid I know, but it could really damage Chelsea's run in.

I've got a hunch Chelsea will throw us a curve ball and pick Terry as a starter on Saturday. I also think William will start instead if Pedro. This means they'll defend very deep, limit our space and try and hit us on the break.

I think we could go with the 3-4-2-1 which I think helps us defend the. Counter better. Son will be a great impact sub, and Janssen will be good for the last 10 mins for hold-up play.

The only other selection choice then is if Rose is fit and can he play instead of Davies.

After his recent displays Son has to start. Verts will play on the left instead of Davies and Dier will drop back.

Rosey won't be match, so I don't won't him taking up space on the bench for someone who is
