I expect to see CCV and Wimmer. I'd like to see Onomah and N'Koudou. Winks should play - hard to say who he should partner with though. If Toby is healthy enough to start next weekend, maybe Dier can play the DM role. Alli is young enough that he can handle 3 games in a week.

Vorm
Trippier CCV Wimmer Davies
Dier(c) Winks
Onomah Alli N'Koudou
Janssen

Bench: Pau, Walker, Jan, Wanyama, Dembele, Lamela, Son.

Earliest chance of us winning a trophy, I don't give a shit if it's "mickey mouse" or not, I want us to start winning things and gain a winning mentality, we need to take it serious and I really want us to knock Liverpool out of it quite frankly as well because I can't stand them.

I do agree we need to rotate however but let's not do it in an insulting manner, I want us to win this thing.

Even if we are knocked out, there's still the FAC.

The positive that I'm looking at if we are knocked of the LC is that we'd then have the same number of comps that pool are in. If pool think that they'd then have a good chance of winning the LC they might put on stronger teams in the later rounds of the comp and thus open themselves up to potential injuries / tiredness from their players which might affect their league form.

If we knock pool out, then we'd be in 4 comps and they'd be in 2, which would allow them to easily concentrate on the league.

Of course, I'd like us to win all the comps that we play in but all is not gloomy if we lose out in some of them. I'm just looking at any potential silver linings.

Well, yeah.... we'd be in the same number of comps. but I'm not sure you can really compare the league cup and Champions League as equivalent drains on clubs' resources. We'd still have (potentially) many more games, against higher standard of opposition with much more travelling.

Let's rotate sensibly but not wholesale, give them a proper game and hope to make the quarter finals!

Irrelevant who we pick IMO.
Well no, its not.
Liverpool will pick a very strong side. With a baying An field crowd it could be a very challenging night.
I do expect us to go out but what we don't want is to field an inexperienced side and get hammered, ruining their confidence for more important games. A sensible mix, please.

I agree with your points but the difference in the number of games we'd each have to play would be considerably smaller.

If we have enough quality players to rotate and beat Pool, then I'm all for it.

I like how people consider playing a weakend team as 'rotation'. I do hope these people never complain how this club never wins anything.

Or we could do what you suggest and play our strongest team in every match and then get burnt out by February...not such a great idea that is it?

Where did I suggest that? What I want us to do is actual rotation which we have never really done, either during the Redknapp era or the Poch one. That applies to both the league and to the cups. What we have done is anything but that, for most part it has been our strongest side in the league week in week out and weakened teams in the cups. And look at how far that policy has gotten us.

poch has already confirmed the team will be along the same lines as the one that started against gillingham.

vorm, trippier, ccv, wimmer, davies, winks, carroll, onomah, nkoudou and janssen are all more or less nailed on, last place depends on whether he wants a midfield anchor(probably dier if toby's back next week) or an am.

I'm just hoping Edwards gets some minutes. I'm desperate to see what the boy can do.

Vorm
Trippier Wimmer CCV Davies
Sissoko Dembele Winks Dier GKN
Janssen

Subs
Pau Onomah KWP Carroll Verts Walker Kane

Verts and Walker for experience in case we are losing by a few. Kane needs match fitness. He was back running this week, if ready then give him 30 minutes. If not then Son.

You don't remember what happened February onwards during Redknapp's tenure, do you?

I know exactly what Redknapp did he didn't rotate the squad, didn't give the fringe players the match experience they required, effectively threw the cups in attempt to keep the first team fresh which failed miserably. And despite wasting a golden generation so many of our supporters want to enact the same policy time and time again. The definition of madness always springs to mind when I see these threads.

I'd like to see Lopez given ago in goal & I'd play Dembele instead of Dier because needs game time to get match fit.

Boooo this post changed. I wanted to see me on the pitch too! Just buy my flight and housing, Daniel! I'll even take the tube like you and mix it up with the peasants on the way to the game!
