Son, lamela, alli with dembele and dier in the middle

a little splash of cold water for Christian

Lloris

Walker
Toby
Jan
Rose

Dier
Alli

Lamela
Dembele
Eriksen

Kane

Subs: Vorm, Davies, Carroll, Bentaleb, Chadli, Njie, Son

Edit - took Onomah off the bench given he started tonight. Some real headaches for Poch coming up, when Mason returns next week as well.
I would put Son ahead of Eriksen to be honest. I agree with the rest of your selection

I would start the same team, not sure which way round I would have Dembele and Alli yet, I like the idea of them swapping mid-game a few times. I'd add that if Eriksen is looking ineffective around the 60 minute mark and we need a change in the game I would like to see Son subbed on for him rather than Lamela, it sometimes looks as if Poch has decided his subs pre-game.

The people who wanna drop Eriksen and replace him with Son (who was our "worst" player last night) and also thinks Dembele is gonna play the 10-role I can only laugh about. Clearly Poch thinks Dembele cant play the role and that's why he's using Alli up there time and time again.

We need Eriksen in a home game against Newcastle which should be relative defensive and we're gonna dominate the game. He does something with our tempo of the game and not dribbling around stupid and slowing down the game like Dembele, even tough he got a little better at it.

I just think Eriksen needs a rocket he's been at his level for the last 5 years he needs to ask himself does he want to push onto the David silva levels or Mata levels or is he happy just being a good playmaker

Son is a player I really like, he must be a pain to play against as he pops up everywhere. However Eriksen, though not at his best recently, is a player who offers something different in unlocking defences. In addition Dembele who I have never rated before has been in very good form so is hard to leave out. So I guess I am saying that we keep Son on the bench but unleash him, not too late, if we need him. In addition Clinton is looking good and has energy plus pace which could make an impact in the last twenty minutes of the game

Am I seriously the only one thinking Eriksen never has been better with us than he is now? I'm asking people who can grasp the ability to look beyond one match a few days ago..We've been playing the best and most solid football this season than we have in the last 5 years. Fuck his late goals last season (not really, but you know..) we're actually a threat this season. We've got a flow and slickness to our game now and Christian most certainly has a part in that.

Also, this makes no sense what so ever. You want him off the start 11 because he's happy being just a 'good playmaker' and hasn't reached Silva's or Mata's level (which the latter is more than questionable..) and not whether he's good enough for us? Surely that's what matters.

I think the people who want to drop Eriksen are motivated by wanting to see Lamela catch up and overtake his number of assists so they can endlessly tell us he's our "most creative player" and "best corner taker".

@Ironskullll Just because I suggested that in my opinion Son should play ahead of Eriksen on this occasion you rubbish this suggestion as Spam. There is a disagree button you know, it is a red X. Shows your mentality

I don't think Eriksen has been at his best in the last couple of games, but Son hasn't either and he's getting cut a load of slack that Eriksen isn't.

Probably because Son hasn't spent over a year playing in the Prem, and has just come back from an injury.

No sign of Dembele in today's training video so he must still be sick and therefore still not available. Here's my predicted line-up.

Lloris
Walker Toby Jan Rose
Dier Bentaleb
Lamela Alli Eriksen
Kane

Yes and you can recognise that and not write him off. A lot of his play isn't up to speed yet though, his first touch is often a bit ropey and he dawdles on the ball a lot. I don't see why so many have him as a 'must pick' at this stage. He's got to earn a spot over Eriksen or whoever, he hasn't done that yet in my opinion.

Newcastle will sit deep, so would go for a front three behind Kane that are particularly good at close quarters. Yes, this means dropping Alli .. but I'd use him at Southampton when we might not have so much of the ball. With the squad so large at the moment, I think we need to be very careful with someone of his age who has only just started in the premier league ..

I'd also have a very attacking bench .. with at least three of Chadli, Njie, Alli and Onoma .. We have to ensure that if we don't break them down early, we can really change it up for the second half.

But, to be honest, at the moment, there are so many strong variations we could pick :)

We all know how good Eriksen is, and I love to have some scandinavian blood in Spurs. However, NONE of the midfield players can't think they're automatically in starting XI, they must be kept hungry. I just want to see some pace and directness and ability to challenge defenders, and this is why I'd like to see Son-Alli-Lamela behind Kane. If Son doesn't performance well enough, then simply drop him for the next games. Eriksen has a wonderful shooting ability for example, but in many other things I think Son is going to be better. Of course, this is just my opinion, and I'm happy to admit if I'm wrong, but guess We'll see in a couple of years which one has a higher ceiling. Son made some very stupid decicions in Monaco game, but also showed that He has that extra "something". That said, I think Eriksen will start against Newcastle.
