I know its early and we have no team news whatsoever but I cant stop thinking about this game. 3 points needed no matter what or fourth is silpping away big style. The Pikeys have been better lately but we should still be beating them pretty comfortably at home if we play well and arn't complacent.

I suppose they will load up the midfield and play Ba upfront on his own...with Obina, Parker, Hitzlsperger, Noble and Oneill across midfield.

They're not pacey at full back either...Lennon should give Bridge real problems.

We will set up pretty attacking but I hope we dont lose out in midfield. Anway they will park it and hope to hit us on the break.

I would go with:

Gomes

Corluka
Gallas
Dawson
Ekotto

Lennon
Sandro
Modric
Bale

VDV

Defoe

If Kaboul is fit that would be a huge bonus, probably wont be though. Hoping Charlie is fit. If VDV isn't fit I would start Pav up top with Defoe.

Pav, Crouch, Kranjcar, Pienaar - good options from the bench.

Too early I think. Anything before Friday is too early imo.

Well there isn't much to talk about in all truth

Perhaps should of started the thread as talk about the game instead of team for Saturday...

Incidentally the Pikeys are quite confident about this one

Gomes

Corluka
Gallas

Ekotto

Lennon
Sandro
Modric

VDV

Defoe

I would go with exactly that as well.

If VDV needs to be rested to regain fitness I would go with the below.

Gomes
Corluka Gallas Dawson Ekotto
Lennon Sandro Modric Bale
Defoe Pav

subs: Cudicini, Bassong, Jenas, Pienaar, Kranjcar, Van Der Vaart, Crouch

Saying that I actually really wanna see Pav and Defoe again but if we can get VDV fully fit and start to play well with him in the team and with one striker I think it wil benefit us more.

I'd be delighted wth either of the above though to be honest.

442 please, use VDV as an impact sub, he's clearly not fit and just trying to get this season under his belt without major damage

If I had to choose right now I would go for:

Gomes

Corluka Gallas Dawson(C) Assou-Ekotto

Modric Sandro

Lennon Van Der Vaart Bale

Defoe

Subs: Cudicini, Bassong, Jenas, Pienaar, Kranjcar, Pav, Crouch

However, I think we are likely to see us playing 4-4-2 against West Ham

That is exactly what I'd go for. Only difference would be kaboul in for Corluka if he's fit

VDV will only get match fitness by playing matches. Defoe and he have yet to have any chance together barring half an hour v Villa (where it looked promising) so I'd like to see it given another go. Modric, Bale and Lennon in their best and most effective positions. Sorted!

Defoe has to play... One, having missed out against Milan after scoring two against Wolves, it's not going to be beneficial to leave him out of this game if we want to get much from him from the rest of the season... Two, it's West Ham, he always scores against them... Just don't let him take penalties...

although I agree with nicdic that it's too early to tell, brett.spurs has what I feel is the best available. VDV clearly not fit yet, so defoe/pav combo start the game. this should be plenty of firepower to wipe the spammers out by halftime IMHO

Swap Bale for VDV around 60m or when required.

I like the pairing of Sandro and Jenas. If Palacios were fit, I would prefer Sandro and Palacios together in the middile. Based on probable availability I would like to see:

Gomes
Corluka Gallas Dawson Ekotto
Sandro Jenas
Lennon Modric Bale
Pavluychenko

I think Rednapp will go for 4411

Gomes
Corluka Gallas Dawson Ekotto
Lennon Sandro Modric Bale
VDV
Defoe

I am not so worried about his all out attack philosophy while at WHL. I just wish he would adopt a more cautious approach on the road. West Ham will flood the midfield. I would be hugely disappointed with a draw or worse.

A game at home, against a piss poor team full of random foreign mercenaries, no excuse for not going for it with an attacking team and absolutely pummel then into the dirt.

------------Gomes------------
Corluka--Gallas--Dawson--Bale
Lennon--Sandro--Modric--Kranjcar
---------Defoe--Pav---------

Subs: Keeper, Bassong, Ekotto, Jenas, Pienaar, VdV, Crouch

Bale at Left back to start with and see how it goes, even if we change it at half time. Turns into pretty much 3-5-2 when we attack and there are plenty of goals in that team.
