Hi ollie I made Berbs MOTM - :) I thought he was a joy to watch and on a different level to anyone else on the pitch - though I do understand why some people would give the nod to Steed

It's just I love class players like Berbs - it's like when Hodd played for us - for me most games he was MOTM just cos of his sheer 'Hodness' :)

Berbatov was classy at times and helped with the first goal. Unfortunately, his partnership with Bent was shocking. When one of them nodded it on, the other was not running onto the flicks. Either would have worked better with Defoe while we were using the long ball tactic (most of the game). The running off the ball from the whole team left a lot to be desired.

Robinson 6: Didn't have much to do. Had no chance with their goal

Chimbonda 6: Dealt with Petrov well all game. Much better than against Anderlect. Scored an offside goal.

Dawson 6: Played well.

Kaboul 6: Best game in a Spurs shirt. Dealt with dangerous balls well by hitting row Z. Never over played in defence.

Lee 6: Had a torrid time dealing with their RW in the 1st half. Was good in the second half.

Jenas 5: Missed a decent chance. Gave the ball away in good attacking opportunities.

Lennon 5: Did nothing much. Looked good 2 minutes before being subbed.

Zokora 6: Played better than usual.

Malbranque 7: Awesome defending and attacking most of the game. Rarely lost possession.

Berbatov 7: Different class in the 1st half. Wasn't as good in the 2nd, but still showed his class.

Bent 4: Abysmal. At fault for their goal. Missed a 1on1 early on. Played with no composure all game.

Boateng 5: looked lively did ok.

Defoe 6: Came on and scored - gg.

Seriously?
I thought it was his worst performance of the season.

robbo - 6: didn't have a lot to do but was solid.
chimmy - 6.5: ok game from him...scored a goal but, like always, i still think he's either not playing to his full potential or he's overhyped.
lee - 6: i'll give him 10 for heart, for fighting spirit but he's a right-footed player playing left-back and it shows. he offers nothing going forward. was solid at back and should be useful while bale is out.
dawson - 6: no nonsense from him, thank god. but he's not the player he was two years ago. sort it out, daws.
kaboul - 5: terrible passing...everywhere on the pitch. i remember a five-minute period where he desperately tried to cross the ball at every opportunity. that was horrible. can't wait for ledley.
steed - 7.5: not a fan but he's been turning me a round lately. our most consistent performer this season and played well against city. instrumental in our winning goal. made some great tackles as well. i think he would work well in a AM role.
lennon - 7:lively
jenas - 6.5: was sometimes involved, sometimes missing. that's jenas. i prefer tha hudd.
zokora - 6.5: won a couple of tackles and played alright. still gives away the ball too many times and doesn't win the ball often enough (compared to maka, mascherano, etc.).
berba - 7: most of our attacks went through him.
bent - 5: wasn't involved...and didn't finish his chances.

subs:
defoe did well and prince was ok.

Incredibly harsh on Kaboul. His distribution was poor but he was commanding in the air and made 2 very important blocks when city were on the break.

Sorry to bump this, had some spare time and have wanted to do this since the thread started :)

Robbinson: 6 - Not much to do, the Ramos diet has worked wonders for him, may it go commercial.

Lee: 7 - Kept going and going as always.

Dawson: 7 - Would of been a six but much improved after the second half.

Kaboul: 7 - Was i the only one who thought his passing was fine? He got the ball and passed into SPACE, space in which someone should of been running into rather standing around. Defense wise improved, i still firmly believe he will be a big name in the future for us.

Chimbonda: 7 - Fine for the most part no worse than anyone else this season.

Jenas: 7 - Lot's of running, lots of thrown away piss poor passes too, a bit of a step back in his latest spurt of progress.

Zokora: 7 - An enigma to me, he has the BASE qualities to be coached into a really good player for us - much better in the second half, an extra point for passion and drive, he does clearly care.

Lennon: 7 - Fine, tested defenders, i think we'll see an 8 performance from him soon. Must note, he has finally learned how to LIFT the ball, congrats. Although not always accurate is crossing is starting to show more.... culture, you can't expect him to perform to perfection while his clearly developing his skill set on the pitch, this happens.

Malbranque: 8 - Just blown me away this season in his unatrual position, i can't wait to see him central after we sign a left winger :p. Great work rate, creative outlet - as for loose passes, in his case i'd claim a Kaboul in that the more creative passes into space are not being run onto, i'm sure this will change as the system is adapted to again.

Berbatov: 7 - yep 7, by his standards probably lower, he should of needed one or two, but all other play back to the exceptional standards almost, doing the midfield job too.

Bent: 4 - Insulting performance.

--- Subs ---

Defoe: 7 - Scored, great positioning for the goal. Looked lively and as always willing to take a crack at goal and wanted to win.

Boateng: 7 - Another player who came out to win, seemed to really spark the team, it's difficult to judge his passing given the time and drive to win, but at least it wasn't an over excited Ghally performance; he passed forward, looked fairly accurate and probing, got stuck in to establish he is no push over. I get the feeling he is going to be one hell of a player, he is clearly enthusiastic but from his interviews grounded, great mentality very impressed.

Tanio: 7 - Did nothing wrong, one really good pass / through ball and personally i felt safe once he was on, the win was ours. Shame we'll loose him, he never really got to play in his native position and is a workhorse, good squad player who is worth at least 15 games a season for us.

--- Management ---

Good job again, good subs, I was wondering if he would switch to the 3-5-2 for the sake of it, but he didn't, made the subs, stuck to his tactics and we came out winners while individually the players looked much better, cant ask for more really.

Team performance id give 6, he has them for a week this week so lets hope they can merge a bit more and we'll see some better off the ball movement. I am getting a bit sick of this though, it feels like the team have been merging for 3 years - even when Jol got a week with them they looked better for it, do they hate eachother or something?

Xmas will be an interesting period in football terms :)
