KWP as superb against Newcastle but Chelsea are a different proposition even with so many players out so be interesting to see what Poch decides

Lloris
Alderweireld Dier Vertonghen
WPeters Wanyama Dembele Davies
Dele Eriksen
Kane

Vorm Wimmer CVickers Winks Sissoko Son Janssen
* if fit, Trippier in for Walker-Peters, Walker-Peters on the bench, Carter-Vickers out.

This.

Shame as would like Son in team but feel against Chelsea should be 3-4-2-1 to counter their formation.

I don't think it's confirmed yet. He had an injury, but could be back for this game.

I didn't know he picked up an injury, I wasn't sure if the red he got in the Charity Shield meant he missed our game or not.

Fully expecting Trippier to start.

My XI :

Lloris,
Dier, Toby, Jan,
Trippier, Wanyama, Dembele, Davies
Eriksen,
Kane, Dele

If Trippier isnt fit, I would use Sissoko as RWB.

According to Physio Room Pedro is injured, a doubt to be back in the team for Sunday.
Anyway you look at it, we will be playing a significantly weaker Chelsea team on Sunday than we played in the semi final. No Costa, no Hazard, no Fabregas, no Cahill, no Matic, no Terry (!), possibly no Pedro.

If Sanchez were to sign today or tomorrow I'd almost be tempted to throw him in just for his pace and physicality. But doubt very much will happen.im more worried defensively than offensively. They still have morata Pedro Willian which is a big threat. So I'd go with a the usual 3 and KWP as wing back.Pretty convinced we will score just need to make sure keep them out.

Why do you expect him to start? Has there been an update on his injury that I've missed?

I am worried about Chelsea parking the bus and playing counter attacks. They showed this weekend, that they can play extremely dangerous counters, especially once they brought on Morata. Also, Alonso had a really good game for them, almost playing as a left winger at times and beating his man repeatedly, so I would prefer someone more experienced than KWP to start on the right side of defense. Otherwise, Toby will get pulled out of position, opening up space in the center for Morata to exploit. Playing three CBs might really be the answer this weekend.

In that case he should have been fine for Newcastle but be crocked for Everton. I don't think that's how injuries work, though.

I think Sissoko could still turn the situation around. He's got the physical attributes to succeed, and now the opportunity.

Well yes I suppose so in that he has two legs and a head.

Sadly it's his ability to use any of those appendages that is the main problem.

Shouldn't even be in the 18 for me.

That bad? I didn't watch us play Newc. How did he do?

In the first half he wasn't much better or worse than anyone else, although his effort levels looked very low.

In the second half when everyone else raised their game, he actually got worse and by the time he'd been taken off I personally had forgotten he was on the pitch.

I was hoping that being given an opportunity, against his old club, on the first day of the season, we'd have seen more from him.

But predictably we didn't. For me he doesn't deserve a place in the squad at the moment.
