It's looking increasing likely that we're going to have to beat this bunch of ****s.

433. Press, press, fucking press. Give them no time, get their fans on their backs, on Rafa's backs.

Hudd/Carroll Holtby
Dembele
Bale Ade Dempsey

If no Dembele then Parker in and *has* to just sit and protect. Nothing more.

They're beatable. Need to get at them.

I'm a lot less confident without Dembele, why can't we ever have a fully fit team to face these bastards? I'm just praying for some Bale genius.
Lloris
Walker Caulker Vertonghen BAE
Parker Huddlestone
Holtby
Bale--------------------Lennon
Adebayor
Friedel, Naughton, Dawson, Livermore, Carroll, Dempsey, Defoe
I really worry about Dawson's lack of mobility and his poor performances lately so I think Caulker should be handed a chance. Some would say it's risky but we haven't exactly been steady with Daws and Verts at the back either.
Scott Parker- do not roam, do not turn, do not twizzle, do not even think about it. Stick to your position, do your job then play it simple to Hudd or Lewis. If it was any other game i'd consider Livermore but this one is too huge and too risky to experiment here. We need our experienced players.
Adebayor beats Defoe for me because he's more of an outlet, albeit a poor one. We need that against the Chavs. With our wingers we can kill them on the counter, Hudd is very capable of releasing one of our attackers with a pinpoint pass.

I have been putting little comments in the ear of chav 'friends' (well as friendly as you can be with a chav...) about the poetic justice of AVB coming back and robbing Chelsea of a Champions League spot, after he got no credit for their Champions league win (how I look forward to the end of that song) and was treated like shit by their billy big nuts players.

And I know they are shitting it...

So everybody do your bit, if you know a chav, let them know that AVB is gonna mastermind a bus parking performance where Parker score a Sandro-esque Bridge goal... (ok maybe that's pushing it)

just quietly sing (to the coke, holiday's are coming Christmas tune) AVB is coming, AVB is coming...

Hate to break it to you, but Caulker is as lacking in mobility as Dawson (if not more so) plus he does not have the benefit of recent game time.

Certainly the Daws/Verts partnership can look statuesque, and is crying out for a (fully fit) Kaboul or a mobile partner, but Not Caulker in this game, and definitely not at RCB (where he has had some shockers)

Am I the only one praying that Torres doesn't start this? If we play with the same defensive high-line that we did today, Mata, Oscar and Hazard are going to have a motherfucking field day feeding balls in to Torres. I know his finishing hasn't exactly been extraordinary this season, but his movement is still very good. We will get ripped to shreds if we defend like we did today, and that makes me sad.

Lloris
Walker Caulker Vertonghen Ekotto
Parker Holtby
Bale Carroll Lennon
Adebayor
Subs: Brad, Dawson, Naughton, Hudd, Siggs, Defoe, Dempsey
Play the above and we have a chance. We must be a threat going forward or we're toast from the off.

I think if it were me I would play pretty deep with two defensive midfielders and a quick front 4, to play on the counter attack. I know AVB is loathe to doing that though, but sitting deep with something like this would work imo:

Because though Dawson and Caulker couldn't play a high line, they could definitely be effective sitting deeper. Parker could man mark Mata while Vertonghen could shield the defense. It is a very defensive setup but we can't afford to lose and I think we could catch them on the break.

Anyway, knowing that AVB wouldn't do that, and will probably play a pretty high line, the strategy imo should be to outnumber them in midfield and starve the service to their front 4. I think a team like this could do so:

Kind of assumed Dembele won't start for the first one, but I didn't know who to put in his place in the second formation.

something defensive, and play for the 1-0 result at the foot of Bale. We've been crap for 2 months save for 7 minutes against City.

This would be the kind of game Dempsey scores in. Chuck him on after 60 minutes.

Lloris
Walker - SuperJan - Dawson - Benny
Parker - HOLTBY
Lennon - Bale - Gylfi
Ade
Friedel; Caulker, Naughton; Dempsey, YTC, Huddlefridge; Defoe
I can't stress how important Holtby is. We need movement, we need creativity, we need the man who's willing to run his balls off.

I wouldn't dare to think what the team is going to look like due to injuries..what i'd like to see is caulker come in & verts play
in front of the back four

Is a crazy thought but I considered the same. A big experiment for a game like this is too big a risk. But verts anchoring the midfield with Parker and holtby just ahead of him. Chelsea do something similar with Luiz, and I think verts is more than capable.

If we are to win this, im thinking of our win at the san siro. Make the team really compact and difficult to break down, and counter at speed with Bale, Ade, and Lennon. I don't think this will be the team, but:

Lloris

Walker
Dawson
Caulker
BAE

Parker
Verts
Holtby/siggy

Lennon
Ade
Bale

Subs: friedel, naughton, gallas/hudd, Dempsey, carrol, defoe, holtby/siggy

exactly!.. verts plays there for Belgium & his versatility is something we can use effectively when needed.. I don't see it as
that bigger risk as we're completely up against it!.. the game will be won/lost by how we counter hazard/mata/Oscar.

I doubt it will happen, but I would like to see more of Carroll. We need players who can keep possession.

Walker daws jan BAE
Carroll hudd. Holtby

Since we are missing our two main centre mids, Sandro and a fit dembele, I would switch to a 433 to get an extra body in there. A mix of Carroll hudd and holtby would be a good blend, and in theory would improve our possession.

I think one of them is going to get sent off and Ade will knock in a winner in the last few minutes.

......then we draw with Stoke!!!!!
