Why are people assuming Dembele will start from the right?

Lamela hasn't had a pre season (first 45 mins was yesterday) and Townsend is injured. If Lamela isn't deemed match ready, and we know Poch pays real heed to fitness levels + conditioning, then Dembele is the only choice really.

It's a really tough one for me. I don't want to see Eriksen in the middle and I personally think Dembele needs to start. I'd like to see Ali as I think we need a bit of a wildcard and I know Chaldi isn't primarily on the right but I'd rather have him starting than Lamela.

If Ali tires Lamela can take his place and stay central if Chadli is doing ok on that side. I'm not sure what Poch intends but I think we need to see him in advanced central role.

I have the same worries but I also worry that we'll need more than what we will get. We know we need at least 4 new players (2 strikers, 1 winger and one CM) but what is mostly ideal is to acquire 5/6 players (2 strikers, 2 central midfielders being a DM + CM and 2 wide men) because we need to cover ourselves for when/if certain players get injured. We are crying out for creativity but if we sign someone who can actually knit our play together and bring about some offensive cohesion are we back to square one if he's unavailable? If we sign just the one winger who can really make a difference are we also back to looking lacklustre in front of goal if he's unavailable?

Basically I just think we need multiple players (ideally 3 players) who can really make a difference to our attacking play because I think we're that devoid of effective attacking football and creativity.

Heard the similar rants last season - we actually won first 2 games & then our season went downhill (after window closed). So, there are no guarantees.

Point is we needed to improve and bring in quality. defensively we are stronger but everywhere else weaker and whoever we bring in now won't start sat. We weren't schooled at wembley we outplayed a team who spends 100's of millions on a squad and got beat by a couple of deflected goals. Stop being so bloody negative and how are we weaker everywhere else. We can't be weaker than last season when our first 11 is the same plus trippier,Toby and Wimmer, that makes no sense. Are you just making things up as you go.
