You don't fancy Kaboul playing as a sweeper for this one then? :duh:
Carroll not playing, info on their site.
Do you think Kaboul is incapable of playing as a sweeper?
There are threads suggesting him as a striker, let alone someone who can defend when we are not in possession and push into midfield when we are.
He still can be a little chaotic as an out and out CD. I think he is absolutely perfect for a sweeper.
I'm just a little confused as to why most lineups have Defoe in them. Since he has scored about 3 or 4 Prem goals in 13 months.

I agree on the shape. I still don't think any of strikers deserve a place in the team. I wish HR would get stronger.
What the fuck is a "sweeper" anyway???? Sorry I dont watch much "soccer".
Im not 100% certain but in his teams selections he has Kaboul in midfield and labels him a "Sweeper" but i always thought in football terms a "sweeper" played in behind the back four
That's odd because in another thread you seem to suggest it's our midfield and players like Modric that are causing our strikers to look like steaming piles of horse shit.

You seem to be another person who thinks a sweeper plays where he does from CM formation icons (which if true would basically mean we will never have an offside trap):
Sweeper/Libero (SW)
Main article: Sweeper (association football)
The Sweeper or libero (Italian: free) is a more versatile type of centre back that, as the name suggests, "sweeps up" the ball if the opponent manages to breach the defensive line. Their position is rather more fluid than other defenders who mark their designated opponents. The sweeper's ability to read the game is even more vital than for a centre-back.[11] The catenaccio system of play, used in Italian football in the 1960s, notably employed a defensive libero.[12]
Many centre-backs have the ability to bring the ball out of defence and begin counter-attacks for their own teams, thanks to tactical (game reading, anticipation, positioning, tackling) and technical (passing, vision on the pitch) capabilities.
Former German captain Franz Beckenbauer is widely accepted as the inventor and one of the best players of the role.[13]
Yea I thought that, rather like Fellaini (spelling?) for Everton.
