i just hope our central midfield can transition the ball quickly enough to the final third, may have to drop eriksen back a little if not.

All I know is if I see another sandro paulinho dembele midfield three i'll be huddled in the corner fingers clasped at the knees rocking back and forth screaming momma

Before mocking others, I would think that you understand that picking a team on paper due to their potential and picking a team weeks later where the same player is injured(Capoue) and loss of form (Dembele), you would pick alternatives?

Sorry I'm being smug. So many on here said it would work and I said it wouldn't. One of those rare occasions.

The last thing I want to see is Eriksen on the left, you would think we would have realised by now that we should be playing players in their best positions or we will end up in a years time talking about him like we do sigy.

If it is simply to fit holtby in then why not have a midfield 3 of sandro holtby and eriksen with lamela townsend on the wings where they should be being wingers and all that.

I know that means Paul on the bench but that's what happens when you have such options. Either that or start one of holtby/eriksen with the other being ready to come on if needed.

But please no more talk of Erikson on the left

if the other option is chadli then eriksen on the left sounds good to me.

JUSTINSIGNAL's line up would address that concern somewhat.

Unlike most, I don't think the Lamela-Holtby-Eriksen trio will work. Lamela and Eriksen both cut in and the midfield then becomes very narrow. This means we need the fullbacks for width and unfortunately, neither of them can cross. Rose seems to drill every ball in on the floor and Walker can't beat the first man.

I'd go with this:

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Sandro Paulinho
Lamela Eriksen Townsend
Soldado

Hate how dead SC is, this was/is my jam when I'm bored or want to chill and read something.

Wish there was no international breaks.

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Verts Rose
Paulinho Sandro
Lamela Holtby Eriksen
Soldado

Friedel Chiriches Dembele Townsend Defoe Chadli

Norwich will come sit back, we need out 3 most creative players behind our striker in a fluid 4-2-3-1 a la Chelsea

By the way, for those saying they don't want Eriksen out on the left, that's just for the sake of writing an XI. There will be no set position for any of the 3 behind Soldado. Go watch Oscar's goal for Chelsea against Hull to understand how they should drift in a fluid 4-2-3-1.

I just don't understand the criticisms of Chadli.
If he had played 3 seasons in the Premiership fair enough, but he's played 3 games in a team that is building.

Its a fair enough reservation, but Rose and Walker were dreadful with their crossing on Sunday. It can't get any worse, and can only improve surely.

Furthermore, its going to be pretty congested anyway with how deep they are sitting. Having two players who can pick the lock and are on the same wave length for one touch passing, who offer the requisite vision, can only help in these sort of conditions.

We need a big shot in the arm in terms of creativity, and deep sitting teams at home last season were our nemesis.

I like him. Think some of his touches were insanely good on Sunday, particularly in the first half - albeit he faded a bit in the second.

I havn't selected him for my team against Norwich, but that's not to say I wouldn't select him for Cardiff away - for example.
