We actually already had a really good player who can play on the left. He played in that position for AZ for some time.

Dembele? I think I would prefer to use Eriksen or Chadli out there.

If you mean Dembele, his last few performances take him out of the lineup for me.

Unlike most, I don't think the Lamela-Holtby-Eriksen trio will work. Lamela and Eriksen both cut in and the midfield then becomes very narrow. This means we need the fullbacks for width and unfortunately, neither of them can cross. Rose seems to drill every ball in on the floor and Walker can't beat the first man.

I'd go with this:

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Sandro Paulinho
Lamela Eriksen Townsend
Soldado
Their intelligence does leave a lot to be desired but the essence of having Rose and Walker in the team is to create space inside and in time, the triangles will be much more prominent as the team develops and gels.

This is why Benny was shipped to because he was far too conservative going forward and that Rose and Walker will both have to rely on their pace to dig themselves out of a hole every so often.

I'm happy with $hogun's team as Holtby deserves a chance to shine with Dembele currently below par and in Eriksen, we have a true lock picker of which we've craved for so long. It looks damn good on paper going forward but don't be disheartened if there's still a bit of indecision in the final third but I'm more than confident that the team will click sooner rather than later.

hasn't lamela previously stated that he prefers to play centrally?

Not IIRC. He was developed as a trequartista but was moved out to the right at Roma due to Totti occupying the hole.

He might have a slight preference but he will serve our team better coming in off the right.

I don't think he has said this, but considering the impact AVB has had on Bale and Hulk's careers he would be well served just to listen to him, as he has the potential to be better than either.

Snodgrass is a decent quality player, always has been, and Redmond has been playing superb for them, he was MOTM against Sunderland.

It's Snodgrass' set pieces that worry me. He's an excellent free kick and corner taker. We've not so good at dealing with those the last few years.

I just don't understand the criticisms of Chadli.
If he had played 3 seasons in the Premiership fair enough, but he's played 3 games in a team that is building.

Fucking win. Unfortunately a bunch of idiots on here want to write him off already.

If AVB unleashes this team, I would be quite excited, I can smell goals with that line-up, lots of them.

Definitely feel that Holtby deserves a start. Played well against Tsibilsi and scored against Norwich U-21, he looks to be over his injury and i feel would add some quick passing and inventiveness in the team.

This.

He looks up for it and hungry, I'd accommodate him 100%.

I dropped Chadli just because rotation is key, I still think he is going to be a good player for us - Although I think he suits away games more... We'll see.

It's the otherway round he started as lw at River, then at Roma he played on right before eventually playing in middle

Every year norwich come and we have a lack of fight, creativity and muscle. This year it must change!

Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Sandro
Paulinho Holtby
