I remember people spouting the 'best 11' crap last season when we looked tired and failed to beat West Ham, Wigana and Blackpool.

If the last 3 games haven't screamed that we're tired and could use an extra midfielder to enable us to keep posession better then I'm not sure what you're watching.

Our attacking players will not see enough of the ball if we don't dominate midfield.

You can cite last year as an example but that was a period in January when we had games coming out of our arse and there was no squad rotation employed between our Champions League and Premier League fixtures - a completely different scenario to what we have now whereby our top players have by and large a week off between fixtures and not much in terms of travel time.

If you have read any of my previous posts you will know i'm a staunch supporter of the 4231 formation, or if you like, two players in Sandro and Parker sitting to allow a more expansive game from Modric, VdV and Bale whilst releasing Walker to almost a right midfielder role so I think your second paragraph in this argument is defunct concerning my views.

-----Adebayor -- Defoe---

Some of these teams are a joke and are clearly not happening, maybe try them out on FIFA.

I'm still flabbergasted at the number of line ups with Luka on the wings, what is wrong with people? Our play is blatantly so much better with him in the middle, when he is out wide we struggle to dictate games

Agreed, I know he can do a half decent job out there but it's square peg in a round hole situation.

We have to keep Bale and Lennon out wide, spread the play and make teams work. Lennon needs games and hopefully can pick up some form. Bale's done so so this year, certainly not let us down. I don't know why people want to drop them and play central players out wide?

Anyway, you all know `Arry will pick the same line up from Sunday bar injurys (and I agree with him).

I know Benny's done a good job for us, but I'd really like to see the Bale-Modric combo again down the left. With Modric the licence to drift in.

------------Friedel

Walker--Kaboul--Bassong--Bale

------Parker(c)--Sandro-------

Lennon-----VDV----Modric-----

----------Adebayor------------

This team would do alot of damage to QPR

I would like harry to go for this;

Gomes/Freidel

Corluka (if fit) - Kabul - Gallas (if fit) - BAE

Walker - Parker - Sandro - Modric

VDV - Ade

We have had a problem with the right this season, Lennon has been injured and useless since his return. Bale does not work at all and Modric I am not too keen with either.... And VDV is a big no no. That leaves just walker for now who is naturally a winger according to some of the post I have read on SC. And I think could be better than Lennon eventually..... based on Lennon's recent performances I would say he already is.

Bale has been disappointing for the most part and needs ti me on the bench for a kick up the arse and a regroup. So Modric can play on the left

We have been over run in midfield too often this season and Sandro and Park will ad some much needed stability and also providing the back up to release our creative players a bit more. Not only this, but providing a much needed wall in front of a weakened CB pairing.

This formation would also allow for Ade and VDV to remain up front as a potent strike force.

I really just hope Corluka and Gallas are fit.

Rednapp will play either sandro with parker but put VDV central or he'll play a 442 with VDV Wide... in reality he should be playing a 4231 with VDV wide.

I tell thee, if we play a run of games with Modric central with sandro and parker behind. Bales form will shoot up, Adebyor will get more balls in the box and VDV will still score the same amount and type of goalsand lennon will have more impact off the bench.

As with any formation, it only works if you put the effort and drive in..... something that spurs have been lacking recently, especially against Newcastle. The performances have been labored and lack luster.

Whatever selection Harry makes will never satisfy some.....one thing i hope has been put to bed is the daft sugestion that harry only picks his favourites, not accomadating JD even though he has been scoring proves that was a load of bollocks..imo.

Harry does have 'favourites'......but they are the ones who win him games,he has proved he doesn't really give a toss who he upsets in pursuit of winning, and therefore eventually becoming England boss.

He has bought Kaboul, niko and JD all twice ,but is never afraid to drop them.

Indeed. Most of those who claim he does have favourites seem not to notice that in doing so they continually bang on about which of their favourites he's slighting by playing what they perceive as his ones

Rafa has to play central and I doubt Harry will play VDV from the right again. I want the Parker/Sandro CM combo too, but if VDV plays in that system Modric will play wide. So the choice would be either (Modric LM, Bale LB) or (Modric RM, Bale LM)

I'd consider resting Parker to give Sandro a game as he most definitely shouldn't be outcasted to the Europa League now it seems Harry wants Modric back in the centre and Parker has joined. Arguably Sandro is a better DM than Parker anyway.
