Wimmer was just plain atrocious against Wycombe, with his mistakes leading to two goals and the fluffed sitter in the opening minute. He doesn't deserve a start in this imo. It all depends if Toby is fit. If he is fit, then:

Lloris
Dier - Alderweireld - Davies
Walker- Wanyama - Dembele - Rose
Eriksen - Kane - Alli
But if Toby isn't fit, rather than seeing a poor Wimmer in the team or Davies played at CB in a back 4, I'd actually rather see something like the team that finished the game at the Etihad:

Lloris
Walker - Wanyama - Dier - Rose
Winks - Dembele
Son - Eriksen - Alli
Kane

Need to be on the front foot with decent pace at the back. Really want us to score a hatful.

I'd go with this team, tempted to play Winks instead of Son though to give more control in the middle.

I did want to include him but thought the others had greater attacking chemistry.

Given Son played the whole game on Saturday, I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the bench tomorrow.

Depends if you think starting wimmer over Davies is smart I guess
Wimmer is not starting vs. City, the Wanderers, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. That, I think, is rather unlikely. So if you don't want to see Davies starting either tomorrow or at the latest in the weekend, you might become very disappointed.

The teams posted in here without Toby look a little frightening...

This. I'm frankly amazed at how confident some our fans are about tomorrow night without getting an update on whether or not Alderweireld, Rose and Kane are likely to feature. If we're missing Toby and Kane then a win would become a very good result in light of how some of our fringe players struggled against a 4th division team on Saturday! Until we know who is available it seems massively over-confident to expect 3 points away from home to any EPL team.

Poch confirms Toby, Kane and Rose are all fit. Tripper, Jan, Lamela still out.

With Trippier out, I expect to see Walker-Peters on the bench.

If (and it's always a big if in any Premier League game) we are comfortably winning, I would love to see him get some minutes with freedom to express himself. I think the wing back role in the 3 at the back system is made for him.

I think 10 positions pick themselves, with only Wimmer/Davies undecided.

I think that's what Pochettino will go with.

Why can't a 24 year-old play 4 games in 14 days? It's not even 4 full 90 minutes, as he's been substituted at 45 minutes and 61 minutes in the last 2 games.

Because, if I'm not mistaken, he is not quite in a match-fit shape, and probably is not fit enough at this point to handle it. And even if he is fully match fit, he is performing on a level that I think doesn't warrant being nailed on for a starting spot at the moment.

Devils advocate ... sometimes a player needs a run of 3 or 4 consecutive games to (a) get match fitness / sharpness and (b) play themselves into some form.

the thing is Wycombe put up more of a fight in that 1 game compared to Sunderland all season

with Toby, Rose, and Kane if they took a knock tomorrow, we will be without them for a much tougher game on Saturday (which will most probably be my last ever visit to the old lane, unless the person providing can't use his tickets again), and we definitely need our strongest XI the following week
