With the injury news I think it’s time for a 3 at the back system, much as I’m not a fan:

Lloris
Foyth Sanchez Alderweireld
Trippier Winks Dele Aurier
Son Eriksen
Kane

Gazzaniga Davies Dembele Sissoko Skipp Lucas Lamela
Last time that was our midfield and attack we beat Liverpool 4-1.

Likes Erik Lamela, deal with it.

I'd love us to try Foyth in midfield but obviously that won't happen at the moment. We are running out of options though.

3 at the back could be a goer this weekend. Give Foythy (believe it) a shot and get Tripps as far from our goal as possible.

Wouldn't be a bad idea.. I'm really torn between 3 atb and Sissoko at DM.

Lloris
Trippier----Alderweireld----Dier Foyth----Davies
Wanyama Winks----Dembele
Sissoko----Lamela----Moura
Kane

Then Tuesday

Aurier----Alderweireld----Sanchez----Davies

3 at the back is a a no go with the state of our midfield.
Like I says, we beat Liverpool 4-1 and outplayed them completely with no Sissoko, Dembele, Dier or Wanyama on the pitch, 3 at the back and probably our best performance of last season:

Lloris
Alderweireld Sanchez Vertonghen
Trippier Winks Dele Aurier
Son Eriksen
Kane

Lloris

KWP Alderweireld Sanchez Aurier

Dier Winks

Lamela Dele Son

Kane

Son got 2 against Spammers so seems kinda harsh dropping him back to bench.

We also played 3 at the back this season against Watford, we were shit.

https://www.football-lineups.com/lineup/634268/

Also Liverpool had 61% possession that day and we countered them, we had a clear game plan against them, Wolves average 48% possesion which is 12 highest in the league.

We also had a fit Kane who bullied Liverpool's 2 CB's

Things have changed since last season, we should go with what we are comfortable with this season and that's 4 at the back.

we scored two early in quick succession which meant we sat back thereafter, not sure what home game last season against Liverpool has to do with Wolves away this

I'd go:

Lloris
Aurier Foyth Alderweireld Davies
Winks Dembele
Lamela Dele Son
Kane

Gazzaniga Trippier Sanchez Skipp Sissoko Eriksen Lucas

But I think Poch will start Trippier, Sanchez, Lucas and possibly Sissoko.

The match on Tuesday is an absolute must-win so I think we'll need to get somewhat cute with the team for this one.

I'm sure Poch doesn't share this viewpoint but IMO Dembele should be seen exclusively as a substitute to bring on to close out games at this point. He's been effective coming on around the hour mark once teams have tired a bit, but has been absolutely hopeless when he's started this season. He just doesn't have the legs to cope with the pace of play as a starter at the top level anymore.

Based on what Poch said in his press conference today about certain players from the West Ham match keeping their place and Sanchez needing to be assessed given how much he's played recently, I've got a hunch that Foyth will start tomorrow.

All that being said this is what I'd go with:

Lloris
Trippier Foyth Alderweireld Davies
Winks
Sissoko Eriksen
Lucas Kane Son

Bench: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Skipp, Dembele, Lamela, Dele, Llorente

Son keeps his place to try to keep his confidence up and hope that he'll round into a trademark purple patch. Lamela and Dele kept fresh for Tuesday. Pacey fullbacks rested so that Davies is spared another embarrassment against Hirving Lozano. Dembele to come on around 60' for Winks so that he can start again midweek. Fingers crossed we'll put the game to bed so that Eriksen and Kane can get subbed off and be ready for PSV.
