I dont think so. Looks like their incoming players like Williams did not have a proper preseason because of transfer speculation. Also the players on outgoing list are also not training, likes of Lukaku. Given their owners did not open the purse till Stones went out, they are on back foot.

I always find it strange and unprofessional that players with transfer speculation often don't bother with a proper pre-season. It shouldn't really give the buying club the best impression. But I guess players have all the power and can do what they like, etc.

Blame is not entirey at the players door. Sometimes, if the fee involved is significant, then selling club would be reluctant to play play their players in preseason to avoid potential injuries. Also, some players say like Januzaj or Schewinstager are made to train with U21.
Think with Williams, it was the former.

This would be my starting 11 too. Wanyama and Lamela has some good understanding in Australia. I would start him ahead of Mason anytime.
