A few weeks ago Harry was the most wanted CF in europe, now we have some on here wanting him dropped.

Yeah lets drop him in a massive showpiece ,a semi final v Man U after all he has done for us over the last 4years...that'll convince him to stay loyal with us when the elite clubs come calling....
The need to win a trophy is bigger than the sentiments to play Kane as he is clearly not fit. A fit Kane would be the first on the team sheet but he isn't, so he shouldn't. Get over it

Why does that matter? He is a world class defender that simply wants to make as much money as possible.

If he plays, our chances of reaching the Fa Cup final increases. That`s a good enough reason to start him.

Because we should be putting the squad before any individual.

I don’t even think he’s been that world class of late either. Vertonghen has been our best defender.

I appreciate all pros want to make as much money as possible, and perhaps if he had handled the timing of all this better and knuckled down and not fucked us about he could have had his cake and eaten it, but as it is he’s made his bed now he can lie in it.

Dropped?

It's to do with fitness, if he isn't fit enough he shouldn't start as it comprises the team as a whole.

If he is, obviously he starts, first name on team sheet etc etc

You really think he is playing injured or unfit?

Harry is leggy and out of form and the Stoke shit might have knocked his ego abit, after he scored against Brighton he seemed to perk up.

You can say it how you want, not playing him in a FAcup semi final would be wrong on so many ways IMO.

After the way we played the last 2 games we could say the whole squad looks unfit and off form , good luck dropping most of them.

He isn't fit but he started the last 2 games. Not sure of the logic there. If you mean he didn't play all that well, despite scoring, then fine. I didn't see him hobbling or holding his ankle.

It always takes him a couple of game to get back to full sharpness after injury, he's just had them, and scored a goal, but now people want to drop him. I find it really bizarre and there is an absolutely less than zero chance of Kane not starting this game.

Don’t know why we’re even having this discussion. Kane will start, of course he will.
Does anyone think there’s a realistic chance of Toby starting? Papers today reckon Sanchez is straight back in...

............................Lloris
Trippier---------Toby-------Sanchez------Vert / (Davies)
---------Dier-------------Dembele
--------------Son----Eriksen---Dele
-------------------------Kane

Davies has looked iffy the past few games. If Toby is back to first team standard this could work.
Alternatively, we could go with three / five at the back
-----------------------Lloris
-----------Toby------Sanchez------Vert
Trippier------------------------------Davies / KWP
-------------Dier------------Dembele
-------------------Eriksen---Dele
-------------------------Kane

Alternatively if we feel a bit more expansive

-----------------------Lloris
-----------Toby------Sanchez------Vert
Trippier------------------------------Davies /KWP
-----------------Dembele---Dele
------------------------Eriksen
----------------------Kane---Son

TBH, I’m almost as surprised people are going with Tobi.

No way he starts. Why would he. He’s not committed to the cause.

Why are so many wanting to revert to a back three against a side renown for setting up very defensively? Makes no sense what so ever other than to shoe horn TA back into the side.
Don't know about you, but I thought Brighton set up really defensively, and a back line of 4 didn't work that well.

I like 3 at the back too, Davies and trippier don't have the pace to join in attacks and cause problems for the opposition like Walker and rose.

3 at the back means their starting positions can be much higher up the pitch nullifying the lack of devastating Pace and giving us much needed width to stretch defensive teams like manure or Brighton

Kane is leggy and needs to get back into his rhythm, he seemed to perk up in the 2nd half when he was played deeper.

I'd start him, the Utd defenders shit themselves when we played them at Wembley as he bullied both of the CB's, I think his presence alone would put them on the back foot and we already played without him against Utd and we looked utterley toothless.

I'd play Toby, who else knows Lukaku better than his two countrymen. Also, with our two full backs hopefully pushing on, his long diagonals will come into play. Not sure Dav has that in his locker, seems to er on the side of caution a lot of the time.

I would play 5 in the back line (toby sanchez jan)
Dembele as DM
Dele as CM
Then..
Eriksen
Kane
Lamela

Bench:
Dier
Moura
Son
Another back
Vorm

Lamela could help out when needed on the defensive side

If the attack wasnt flowing Id bring in Moura first and Son as an impact player

I think Dele would play the CM role well infact Poch used him in Mid for one if the Liverpool games when we did well.
And Dembele would be good bringing the ball out from our box

At what cost though, not playing Son? I'd rather we have Son running at them from the left with 4 at the back than having Davies further up and hitting the first man with 90% of his crosses.

Plus with 3 at the back, you really want your 3 front men largely contributing to our attack quite well and if Kane is to look how he has done in the last few games that leaves just Alli and Eriksen to make up most of our attack. I think it's something we'd struggle with if Kane is again looking sluggish, it's not like there would be pace around him to compensate.

Son has been a bit iffy lately generally although he does work hard his control is off at times.
We have also been suspect at the back..with only Jan really on form..I would play all 3 CB's
and just use Dembele as the DM. He can handle it well
That leaves enough going forward as apart from the wingbacks,Dele coukd be a quasi CM and that leaves 3 more. Eriksen Kane and Lamela

I'm not putting Brighton down to formation , more application. Far too many of ours were not at the races on Tuesday. Even super consistent Eriksen had a poor game.

We seemed half hearted in our efforts,Brighton werent.
Its hard to believe how many times our passes went to opposition players. Eriksen and Davies especially.
Brighton on the other have had fewer attacks but they found space and passed better during those times.
Its possible tgey were thinking about the semi final and maybe they thought this Brighton game would take care of itself

He's not committed to winning a trophy..don't talk stupid

He’s not committed to Tottenham. I’m sure he’d like to win a trophy with us. Like I said, if he played his cards right he could’ve had his cake and eaten it (won a cup and got a move in the summer) but he’s clearly been fucking us about and isn’t 100% committed otherwise Poch would be playing him.
