I hate this notion that it’s either one or the other. Call me greedy but I want both, at the very least we should be giving it our best chance of both.
We are not going to win the league or champions league so this is our only real chance of a trophy let not give it away by resting half the team
Hate it you may, but look at our injury list, be realistic, i want us to win the treble doesn't mean we have a chance though

United will catch up with us, question is whether you think 4 points is enough to hold Chelsea behind. Great risk of dropping out.

United won't catch us, sure their form has been great, but evetually it will normalize. They won't catch 7 points on 15 games.

FA Cup and CL are priorities now, reckon top 4 is so likely by now If not for major slump.

Don't agree with this to be honest, top 4 is by no way done IMO. Can only take a couple of slip ups for the gap to be way too uncomfortable and with our injuries a drop in points isn't so far-fetched. We were 15 seconds away from the gap being only 5 points from 5th place on Sunday.

I see it is as the other way around myself, maintaining a strong position in the top 4 is what I want to see the most. If we had a fully fit squad I'd have the cup competitions down as more of a priority.

We could also rest all of our 1st 11 for all the cup games and still finish 5 there are no guarantees.

The ones trying to catch will have their slips, markets are quite firm about finish on top 4.

Top 4 looks highly likely and it's first decade on ages we haven't won anything and it's been since 1991 we've won something more than league cup.

Secure top 3 in the league and try to advance in the CL, mostly for money and publicity.

Couldn't care less about what the bookies think to be honest mate! They don't know any more than we do.

The last thing I would want is for anyone at the club to think that top 4 is 'done' to be honest although I know that won't be the case. With the injuries we've had to contend with, the lack of quality in depth in certain (not all) positions and what will seem to be no new additions, this year doesn't seem like the year to go guns out in every competition for me. We've been down to the barebones the last few games so I'm really not thinking about multiple accolades at this stage to be honest.

Focus on maintaining our league position and anything else is a welcome bonus.

In saying that I do think we'll finish in the top 4, I just certainly don't think it's nailed on though.

They've gained 6 points on us in the 6 games so far. Believe this is over and stand there with nothing at the end of the season.
We've got away games at City, Liverpool and Chelsea to go. And a home North London derby.

Well, it may not be 100% nailed on, but looking at PL table and fearing those 7 points behind enough not to go all-in for first trophy of decade and first bigger than League Cup since 1991 is hardly audere est facere, is it?

They gained 50% of that 6 due playing against us and winning, something they won't be able to do again this season. Moreover they will have their share of difficult fixtures and their form won't last on current level till end of the season.

Besides crashing out might do more harm moralwise after penalty shootout loss earlier this week than bit more fatigue.

Our shattered squad won't be able to handle league, FA cup and CL.

Agree, just hope it's Arsenal and Chelsea that end up the more worried than us with them but we can't afford to drop points really. United still somehow have a good run of games in the PL too I think.

No but we have to be pragmatic, we're not in a position to just say to dare is to do and play our best team in every competition, we don't have the squad to be able to do so and it's at it's limits right now.

I just don't expect it this year with our current predicament and the team doesn't even feel the best equipped to me either, (despite how well we're doing in the league) think we really need to address the centre of our midfield.

As much as I want us to win a trophy, I also really want us to be playing CL in the new stadium next season. I just wouldn't want us to risk that.

Id be amazed if Palace field a full strength side. They arent safe yet. They have bigger concerns than the fa cup as do we.

Agree. And ok they beat us and Arsenal tonight but we absolutely fkin battered them to the point where their goal keeper got motm.
In the words od A.Durham 'are they all that?'
