Lloris ??

Romero ?? -- Dier ??????? ---- Davies ???????

Emerson ??--- Bentancur ?? --- Skipp ??????? -- Reguilon ??

Lucas ??--- Kane ??????? ---Son ??
Love the flags :) and this would be my line-up if all are fit.

If Skipp and Dier still out then Sanchez in for Dier and move Romero to CB and PEH in for Skipp.

Kulu & Bergwijn and poss Sess off the bench if we need them.

This but with Hoijberg instead of Skipp. I'm quite excited to see Hoijberg in a midfield where he isn't carrying it all. Not a slight on Skipp but I feel that Bentancur might get the best out of Hoijberg.

Seen enough of PEH to know he shouldn’t be anywhere near the first 11.
19 disagrees? Quite concerning. Its pretty evident that this is correct, not sure what many people see in him tbh. Passion and effort is spot on, but having the football ability to play CM at a club like ours is a different story.

Not sure about anyone else but on my phone this format shows Reguilon as CAM...could be an interesting option!

Although it therefore has Skipp on the left in front of Davies (n)

If Kulusevski is fit I'm more than happy for him to start. I don't see how he's going to get up to the pace of the Prem without playing in it and I'm assuming (or hoping) we've not bought a player to sit on the bench. Will be good to actually have a regular goal threat from the RWF position.

I'm pretty sure it will be the same 11 as the Brighton game.
Would really like to see Bentancur start but I think your right, don't see why he would change it unless Dier is fully fit in which case Sanchez will come out.

I must have missed us signing peak Modric and Dembele in January. Of the options we have it's obviously PEH + 1 or 2 depending on whether we play 2 or 3 up top.

Can’t see him ahead of Lucas yet. Rotation once he gets settled this season, and super-sub until then

Yeh agree with that. Have a feeling this is more of a Lucas type game too. Southampton are a bit like Leicester in terms of structure IMO. The game is going to get stretched and (tactically) chaotic, and that's where Lucas thrives.

Lloris

Sanchez Romero Davies

Doherty Bentancur Hojbjerg Sessegnon

Lucas Kane Son

Really hope Dier and Skipp will be back soon as we need them with so many games coming up.

Yeah, this would be the pick for me. Lucas and Son trying to get in behind their high line and Skipp closing down JWP everytime the ball goes near him, as he is their strogest passer.

Moura is having a great season, and I really like the guy, but he's scored 2 goals in 19 Prem games this season and 3 goals in 30 last season. Bergwijn has 2 in 10 and 1 in 31 from the last two seasons.

Bale for comparison was 11 in 20 from Prem matches in 20/21. Son 8 from 17 and 17 from 37.

I'm not expecting someone to come in and match that and Bale didn't offer enough off the ball, especially for a Conte side. To challenge with the big boys though we need to be scoring goals from RWF, especially considering goals aren't going to come from midfield in Conte's set up. I know why people love Moura and Bergwijn but I don't understand why chronic goal scoring mediocrity is so deeply accepted.

If it's thought that Kulu has some serious goals and assists in him, and he's match fit, he should start. He should get minutes under his belt and be encouraged to find form. If it's not worth making that investment in him then I don't know why we've bought him and shipped out Gil on loan.

I’d like Bentancur to start, and possibly Kulusevski too, but I’m not sure they’ve quite grabbed those places yet, considering our first half against Brighton was pretty good. Only injuries and formation change sees the new guys start, I would think. Bentancur has a higher possibility to start, but not yet guaranteed, by quite a way.

The man runs through brick walls for us and is one of our true leaders. Needs a little more respect from people like you.

Hes not paid tens of thousands of pounds to just show fight and lead a group of players. Also, didnt I just praise him for his passion? The brutal honest truth is hes not good enough in a footballing sense and people like you need to wake up and realise that and stop being blinded by his effort.

So our most productive midfielder, both defensively and offensively, isn't good enough.
As a "realist" what's your plan for the rest of the season??

Maybe we should get Ndombele back lol

He's by no means the best CM but he has been the most reliable and effective CM since we signed him. The fact that he's rarely injured, that he contributes to goals/assists ( more than GLC and he's only 2 goal/assists contributions to matching Ndombele's output having played 6 less games than Tanguy) in the league and does his fair share of defensive work, should be enough to appreciate his impact. Don't need to love him to respect the fact that he's been a great signing for what we paid and for what he's done for the team so far.
