Our team has no real personality at the moment. We look much better when we play 3 in midfield and have 1 sitting and 2 roving as we actually stamp an identity on the game, try and win the ball high and feed the forwards. When we play 2 in the middle we tend to get bypassed and have to win the ball in the back line and then pass to absolutely nobody over and over.

It also means we struggle to cover for our wing backs when they get forward but with the roving midfielder can cover on the side of the out of position wing back and still have enough men in midfield.

I’d be tempted to go:

Lloris

Romero—-Dier—-Davies

Lucas-Skipp-Bentancur-Hojbjerg-Reguilon

Kane—Son

Doubt Conte will though but Lucas really can’t be any worse than the other right wing back options and I’m interested to see Bentancur spraying passes and being the base of our midfield with Skipp and Hojbjerg being awkward bastards.

With Skipp & Dier still out I'd personally go with:

Lloris

Romero Rodon Davies

Doherty PEH Winks Bentancur Sess

Kane Bergwijn

To put pressure on the ball either Skipp or Højbjerg need to be on the pitch. Winks can't press. Bentancur isn't up to speed with his role yet even though I think he can do it, he can't yet do it within the team unit.

Would love to see that side given a go.

Lucas has great work rate and it looks an obvious solution but Conte must doubt his tactical acumen for that position...or something.

If we start Doherty as RWB and if he has a poor game, some fans will ask for Emerson to start in the next match.

Instead of rinsing and repeating, let’s try Lucas or Bergwijn as RWB and see if it works. Can’t be that worse that starting Doherty or Emerson as RWB.
Conte won't though.

Can’t stomach Winks being in the side again sorry. Never want to see him in the team again.

If Skipp isn’t fit I’d go Bentancur and PEH in there. Three up top. Not ideal, but Winks is garbage and we have no other options.

Dier and Skipp injuries are killing us.

I may be wrong, wouldn't be the first time. But I've got a feeling Skipp & Dier are unavailable?

Yeah I thought I'd missed something with Skipp in so many teams. Didn't Conte say on Tuesday that it was 2 weeks he was out for but he'd like it to be 7-10 days? Or something similar to that?

I too am hoping Dier and Skipp are back. I'd also change both WBs as both were abysmal offensively against Southampton, and we need fresh legs and energy.

Lloris

Romero —- Dier —- Davies

Doherty -- Skipp -- Bentancur -- Hojbjerg -- Sessegnon

Kane — Son

Honestly don't know mate. I just know our midfield is better with Skipp in it.

Please no more 343. Just put 3 in CM so that we can at least compete in the middle of the pitch. We need some confidence back after getting schooled on Weds night.

Hopefully we'll hear some news in his presser today on who is available.

I'd play Dier if he's only 75-80% fit anyway. City isn't for another 6 days after it and minutes could help him be fully ready for that game anyway
