For me the main thing Livermore's performance against Everton proved was that he's a good back-up option if needed. It was certainly a good performance, but if Parker is fit he should definitely play ahead of him, in my opinion.
Interesting. Wouldn't mind Pienaar coming in for him though, especially as it would help contend with their 5 man midfield. Thought Pienaar looked sharp when he came on on Wednesday so hope we'd go for that rather than the always worrying 'VDV on the right' tactic.
I doubted VDVs fitness levels before but in recent games he's playing 90 and fighting till the very end as well. V WBA towards the end he tracked back, fought and tackled brilliantly at our RB position before playing the ball forward. It's as fit as he's been in his time with us I think.
In my opinion the best way to counter a team who go out to stifle us is to have as many players on the pitch who can use the ball cleverly and unpredictably. Especially with Sandro still unavailable, we'll never match them for might in the centre, but we can move the ball around too quickly for them to get anywhere near us.
As long as Parker is fit, then I'd swap him with Livermore and the same again please. Wolves are always a hard nut to crack, an early goal would be ideal.

isn't there that quote from some dutch guy about the 1974 world cup final that they scored to early and thats why they lostI have a question for you digger....when would an early goal not be ideal?
I've noticed this phrase being used alot recently. In fact I'm sure I've said it myself. Surely an early goal would always be good. Unless in scoring the goal, Adebayor somehow impales himself on the goalpost

Much as I like Defoe, and he's scored well this season, VDV has been unbelievable lately so I can't understand why you'd leave him out. Whether from the right or in the middle, lately VDV has been absolutely superb every time and absolutely ran the show against Everton.
I hate it when we score early against Man Utd- it seems to make them angry. I specifically remember the 3-1 game at home a couple of years back when Defoe scored a bicycle kick in the first minute. Rather than pushing on we started sitting back and inviting pressure and, before you knew it, we were 2-1 down.I have a question for you digger....when would an early goal not be ideal?
