I think I'm right in saying that he has made around 45 appearances for us including subs. I also think it's true to say he has not convinced anyone yet that he is the real deal. Most of those that praise him refer to him being a proven premiership striker. He has proved nothing for us yet and we now have a number of matches against the lesser ligts coming up. He needs to grab his opportunities now as I am fed up with reading about how he has not been given a chance yet.

to be honest this season is the 1st time he is getting his chance and he scoring goals.last season no matter what he did he new he was going to be left out for are 2 top players...

Love the guy tbh.

Works hard - and is doing pretty much all he can from what he has to play with.

Yes, he has missed chances, but the midfield is not supporting him as it should.

When the confidence returns to the team, he will get more service - and his goals tally will go up.

Great player to have - at least if not in first team, then a good player to have on the bench.

Including subs? most of those he got 10 minutes at the end of a game when we were up against it, who performs when they're playing like that?

His goals per minute on the pitch were as good as berbs and keane last season and up until today he'd had 3 in 3, with one perfectly legal goal disallowed.

Pavlyuchenko was great today by the way. Are we still blaming the striker and not the service? because it seems like pav is struggling too.

I dont wont to piss on the Bent is great thread but from what i've seen already this season i'd be starting with

PAV - FC

Bent was the fourth best striker at the club and unfortunately after seeing quite alot of him I now think he's the third best striker at the club.

Pav looked good and I like his attitude and workrate. Strong, holds it up quite well and has a touch of class

Cambell looks like a pitbull, has real class and runs his socks off and also has a fantastic attitude.

Bent is quick and scores goals sometimes
