I know hes not universally popular with some Spurs fans, but i love the guy.He seems to really want to do well for us,and hopefully he can kick on from his decent start, grow in confidence and make the number 10 shirt his own.He reminds me of one of my favourite ever players,Chris Armstrong,in the fact that he'll probably never do enough for certain people, but he'll keep going right to the end.

It's certainly good we have Bent scoring, else things would be even worse

looking forward to him working with pav on sunday - assuming pav is ready for another prem game

3 goals in 5 games is not to be sniffed at especially when you consider we are playing rubbish at the moment hence not creating many chances. Just wait till we start creating a few and I'm sure he will bang them in just like he did in pre-season!!!

This is the kind of thread made my a spurs supporter, not an FM Football advocate who swears by pure non-emotional 2 dimensional football.

he's one of the only players actually doing their job at the moment.

to get darren bent scoring 20 goals a season we must support him in the final 3rd of the pitch too often are we hoofing the ball up to him and then nobody is there to win the flick on.

Too true. Ramos need to start a training session by lining up the rest of the squad and then measuring Bent in front of them to prove that he is not 10 feet tall, and then point to his boots to show that he has feet and that they should try and pass to them.

The guy works tirelessly. He is very willing to run down the channels and put pressure on defenders.

I think as our team improves we will see him get better and better as we realise we need to stretch teams to create space for him.

His link up play isnt the best, but he will always get on the end of things and is very active in the penalty box. I hope he and Pav can strike a partnership as they have the potential to be very good.

Benty is doing the job asked of him, hitting the back of the net. With a long run in the team I'm sure we will see the best of Darren

At this rate in a 40 game season he's on for 24 goals this season that should satisfy people surely.
Bad players and lucky players don't score that many so if he does there should be no more dissatisfaction with him, actually 20 goals would do that too.

Good to see Bent getting some support on here. Can think of other players who are far more deserving of criticism than him.Fed up with hearing know nothing Arsescum and West Ham fans making jokes about him.I honestly think Bent can be an immense player for us.

If he can score when we create little and play badly he's going to be lethal when we start playing well and creating lots of chances.

We have had so much possession a player with better movement would have scored double his tally.

On the plus side, our second goal from his header would not have been scored by Keane or Berbs as they would never power through anyone in the air.

Our midfield are not linking well enough with our strikers and havent been since the champions league lasagne season. Berba and Keane were successfull cos htey made things happen by themselves, wehreas Bents not that sort of player.

Ive always thought Bent could do Keane's job at least as well as Keane. We still dont have anyone to do Berbs' job, though.
