We scored from a corner (and against Stoke of all people!). Also, yesterday, for 60 mins we were not boring (which I know is a stick many fans like to beat us with these days).

This season could be vastly more competitive than the last few seasons and so fans of all the top 6 should get used to the idea of dropping more points than they've done in the last 4 or 5 years. The only benchmark for success/progress in the EPL this season is league position as points tallies will probably not be comparable to previous seasons, and it's never worth looking at the table until the end of October.

Did anyone notice the massive building site next to White Hart Lane yesterday? That's a big reason to be positive.

1/19th through the season and we are +1points on last season.

Extrapolate that out and we end up on 83points.

It's on lads, it's on.

It was gutting yesterday, especially as for 70 minutes we looked decent. Toby's brain fart kinda cost us the match. Also, on another day the other teams keeper doesn't make a worldie save, Kane puts us 3-0 up and we should be fine.

Unfortunately that's not how football works. The most disappointing thing for me is that was a great chance to get that first win in the bag and with a difficult trip to a Leicester (who have been brilliant) and then we host Everton (who were excellent on Saturday at Southampton), it feels like a misse opportunity. I just hope we're not chasing that first win after 4/5 games played.

But on the whole, I thought we were pretty decent yesterday, I think we'll see a couple more signings to come in before the window shuts and we've just signed a new striker (thankfully!!). So on the whole it's not all bad, just get that win in the bag.

Stuart Pierce yesterday in the first half:

"When Tottenham are in possession its hard to tell what formation they are playing as their movement is so good and every player seems interchangeable".

This was encouraging!

I'm actually excited about our youth set up now. For the first time ever! A lot of young talent getting a first team look in.

The squad numbers are really awesome, especially Kane having 10 (I may have expressed my joy about this once or twice) and Mason 8. :joyful::joyful::joyful:^_^

:) I suppose we shouldn't get too stressed out, what with it being 2 games into the season!

The problem is, we've all been here before. The manager does okay in his first season, has a mediocre transfer window, struggles in the first 7 or 8 games of his second season, the pressure builds, the team starts to really crumble, the fans start going ape and by November we've got ourselves a new manager.

Sod fancy football; that's the real 'Tottenham way' :)

This weeks positives!

unbeaten in two games.
Kane improved through the game and hopefully his fitness is coming back.
Delle Ali will be some player for us, just needs to keep performing and he'll get more and more game time!

Until you realise that it was Stuart Pearce saying it and you realise that its clear that he hasn't got a clue about Tactics full stop.

Forgot to mention one of our most highly rated youth players just signed a new deal. Congrats to Alex Pritchard!

I'm joining the select few and saying I'm still chuffed with the team we have goin into the season. Son seems a real buy and there is no reason why he can't crack on right away. Some great youngsters getting game time and pretty much all our midfielders could do the job in getting some goals.

I'm excited now this team can relax an know they are the squad to make this season theirs.
