England U17s v Ger: W Huffer, J Yates, H Coulson, R Oxford (c), E Suliman, W Patching, C Gribbin, D Wright, M Edwards, K Sterling, L Ndukwu

Our boys keep their places (y)

Was just wondering when the next match is. Good luck to the boys.

When they have all of their best players available this age group is actually very good, but it is clear outside their best eleven they lack any depth.

They're currently losing 2-0...

Ouch. Looks like mistake from arguably best and most experienced player Oxford. Not sure about that Gribbon didn't think he looked that good agains US the other night. anyway Edwards has tested with a couple of freekicks

Ruben Lameiras seems set for loan at Swedish side Atvidabergs FF

http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015...hotspur-teenager-on-verge-of-quitting/page/1/

The Swedish side play in the Swedish top league, although I''m noit sure how competitive it reallly is.

Lameiras is aged 20 and a decent no 10, but not sure if he is good enough to challenge for Spurs first team, but that's really more about the number of good players Spurs have in its youth ranks these days. But a loan has to be the right thing for him as I doubt that the u21 league is testing enough fior him, and just maybe the loan will give him the experience to compete for a first team place - more realistically at another club sadly

Something nostalgic about a youth player going on loan to Sweden. Had a few of them in the 90s. Also Sheringham before he joined us spent some time there.

The timing sounds a little bit odd though, as the Swedish league doesn't restart until April.

As to the strength of the league, it's not the best, but surely better than the u21 league. Reigning champions Malmø played in the Champions League after knocking out Sparta Prague and Red Bull Salzburg on their way.

Whenever I watch our development teams it's invariably this very evident quality of coaching that shines through and tickles my cockles more than the individuals, which is saying something because we've always got some talented individuals on show, but I just love they way we are teaching these kids how to be part of a team, making the years of training far more likely to yield a better footballer with a greater chance of becoming part of our/a team.

Given both Ramsey and Inglethorpe have moved on, this is most encouraging.

Every time I watch Onomah he frustrates me a little. So much talent, and he's not afraid to work for the team without the ball, but there are times when I wish he'd be more demonstrative, get hold of the game and influence it more. I've only seen him in about 6 or 7 full games, but everyone has been a bit like that.

How to continue developing Onomah's clear, standout, talent is the challenge. Do we keep him at the club, giving him bits and pieces in cup games? Or do we risk loaning him out to a club where he may not play that much, or get kicked to pieces by cloggers - because Onomah loves to beat a man?

For every loan like Pritchard's, where he's playing every week in a footballing side and clearly developing, we've had loan disasters like Ryan Mason's lost half-season in France and Milos V's Boro fiasco.

I don't know the answer. Let's hope our coaches continue to develop Onomah carefully.

Very, very impressed with Maghoma and CCV. Fuck off buying Reid when we have these two coming through.

100%. Though the problem with Reid is not the transfer fee, it's the wages he'll get as a Bosman. Which means if one or both of CCV and Maghoma turn out to be better players, Reid will be hard to shift out of the club (as all those Man Shitty mercenaries have proved.)

Disagree about Reid if we sell vlad and kaboul we will need another CH, Ccv and Mags are a log way off they are both 17 yrs old. So if we sell Reid, Verts or Fazio in a couple of years we will have a spot free. I know we also have ball and Milos 5 Cb is not that many esp as ball, Dier, Milo's ( if he goes in defence) are all still so young.

If Warburton stays at Brentford that might be a decent option as Pritchard will hopefully be coming back to Spurs, but you're right, it's a real conundrum, so many loans seem ill thought out by either us or the other club. Like Derby taking Adam Smith then Wisdom a couple of weeks later.

they've confirmed today that warburton's gone at the end of the season. i still don't think onomah will be loaned, i think we'll be transitioning him into the 1st team squad over the next year and a half.

FAYC Nottingham Forest v Spurs @ 7pm Wednesday.

Team from the win against ManU in the last round was :

Voss, Walker-Peters, Walkes, Amos, Maghoma, Carter-Vickers, Georgiou, Stylianides (Owens, 83), Harrison (Sterling, 79), Onomah (c), Azzaoui (Edwards, 73).
Substitutes (not used): Loft, Glover (GK).

I'd expect something similar - but Sterling and Edwards are away with E u17's so there will be at least 2 changes from that squad. I'd guess Armani Daly will be one of the players drafted in

Just read the press release. I assumed that Warburton had been tapped up by someone like QPR and that he'd told them he couldn't leave until the summer as he's a pretty honourable bloke and this had prompted the original statement. Surely the party line can't be true. Benham's crazy if he thinks sacking this group will improve things, surely ?

Kieran McKenna has called for our youngsters to replicate their positive home performances in the FA Youth Cup on the road in our quarter-final trip to Nottingham Forest.

We travel to the City Ground on Wednesday having seen off Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers in home ties – played at Dagenham & Redbridge – in the early stages of the competition, before defeating Manchester United at White Hart Lane last week in the fifth round.

Our clash with Forest therefore represents our first away tie in this season’s competition, with Under-18s Coach Kieran looking for another positive collective showing.

“It’s pleasing, in a way, to get a game away from home because it’s all part of the experience of playing cup football,” he said.

“The chance to play at Nottingham Forest’s main stadium – the City Ground – is something the boys are looking forward to, although I don’t expect the fact that the game is away from home to have a big bearing on our performance.

“Forest have always had a proud tradition, their teams always tend to do well in the Youth Cup and they’ve had a good record of getting players through to the first team as well.

“I’m sure they’ll be looking forward to the game and for us it will certainly be a big challenge.

“The beauty of the FA Youth Cup is that it’s a knockout competition and every game is a pressurised situation but the boys have reacted very well to that so far, so hopefully they can do the same again on Wednesday.”

Kick-off will be at 7pm.

Georgiou is out for this evening's match.
That's disappointing as Georgiou was always a threat, especially with Sterling and Edwards away with England.

Won't be an easy match - Forest U-18s undefeated since beginning of November - 10 wins in 12 games after a poor start to the season.

@Blake Griffin

Yup, I'm worried we are starting to be sort of attacking options - Sherwood, Edwards and Keanan Bennetts with England and now Georgiou out, with the only other forward with experience being Armani Daly (winger) - after that we would need to rely on u16's who have not yet appeared for Spurs u18's.

So Daly will I think be involved as Georgiou's replacement, with maybe Loft coming oiff the bench (as Edwards and Sterling did v ManU).

Could Harrison move out wide and Loft come in as central striker?
