apropos of nothing, i'd love to see fryers to go on loan to qpr. they're playing in a system that features 3 cbs, and dunne clearly isn't a good fit. I think fryers would be great on the left of a 3, would get a season's worth of premiership experience, and come back a better player. especially with fazio now in, he'll struggle for gametime.

Think he'll go on loan but I doubt a prem club.

Not sure we know he has an eu passport though - Spain & Portugal in particular seem to find ways around that which is why I was not surprised at the celta vigo connection.
Both Coulibaly and Bentaleb would have EU citizenship, As Bentaleb is french and Coulibaly's dad is married to a italian woman and he was living there for 4 years anyway.

In the UK we can offer a professional to a 17 year old and EU law allows to sign players at the age of 16 with a pre-contract when they turn 17. Whereas in Spain they can only sign players at the age of 18 with an amateur contract until which allows the rest of europe to pinch their players.

However it is easier to get work permits and citizenship in those countries so spanish teams get their parents to move to spain and work there. Meanwhile their child just "changes" their academy to their new "local" academy, which happened to be the club that wanted him. This is why Barca is getting done.

The Portuguese clubs, don't deal in cash and instead exchange image rights for new promising players. Their citizenship period isn't five years, I think it may be 3 years.

Veljkovic was apparently born in Switzerland which with the EU treaty, he would be fair game to move at the age of 16

What about that 15 year old Romanian kid we just brought into our U18s? Rares Lazar.

Romania have joined the EU and he was having trials in the uk before joining a club to sign a contract. So perhaps his family moved to UK

agreed, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility. he was highly rated at united (not that that means anything anymore) and has PL experience with us, albeit only a bit. If 'aich rated him while he was here, he may think he can do the job required.

Really looking forward to seeing this Yahaya, closest confirmation of him joining us since the links. Good to see!!!

Also here are highlights of our u18s draw with Southampton. Thankfully their club have provided highlights

Wow that looked like it could of ended 5-3 or something. Glover seems quite error prone, maybe ending the run of solid keepers coming through our academy. Then again at that age errors will always be around and he does seem a decent shot stopper. And he is meant to be very highly rated so best to five him the benifit of the doubt.

Yup but we were discussing Musa Yahaya, so the question is whether he has an eu passport firstly and secondly whether that allows him a uk work permit.

If he has an eu passport its quite likely we can find an eu country for him to play in foir a year or two - not sure how easy it is to get uk work permit - we tried the 'special player' but with Gomelt and I'm not sure that worked as uk has tightened up the rules

Glover still 16 so young to be competing at this level.

we have some real talents in that age group. imo just as good as the ones in our u21/18s

Think we do but don't know too much about many of them - started to put together a list of them who have had England call ups on the OP as a start.
