Respect your point but I don't agree

I think Harry's signals so far have been that he would prefer to stay, as his line has gone from "you cannot say no to the England job" to "if they offered I would have to consider it"

There should be a few days off from the Harry-England thing.

He flew to Dubai last night for a little break

I need a few days off from it. If he goes and manages that shower of shite (hello English comrades) and leaves us I'll be gutted.

It's never easy with fucking Tottenham is it?

harry's already in the press talking about how he'd bring paul scholes back and make gerrard captain. oh and how franky lampard is still a triffic player.

This is the sort of thing that is inevitable even if Harry agrees to stay for the rest of the season.

He simply can't be 100% focussed on Spurs and I'm just not sure that's good enough. Time will tell (and I suppose a Harry at 75% concentration is probably better than the available alternatives at this point) but I'm still very worried by it all.

Well , the 3 hour drive from Poole(quoting from recent Harry press conf) plus 3 hours back . Thats 6 hours stress knocked off his day , plenty of lie-ins .Sandra gonna complain you think ? . He's had heart surgery and is 64 . Even more money too ...He's going imo .

That its gone well with us , yes , thats the painful bit for him...and I expect he'll show his respect by staying with us til May . He knows too that the England team aint great and a few defeats will put him in the traditional pariah England manager position .

As has been said , it was expected he'd go in July anyway ,Levy must've been looking ahead and laid groundwork for the next Spurs manager. The only major difference is Harry will go a month or two earlier than expected .( and will unfortunately be a bit distracted from Spurs by Euros coming up)

Its a shame for us as he's done so well , but the court case going as it did meant he (Jordan/Bond too mebbe ) would leave . Onwards ,new manager , new era .

Frustrating thing is that we finally have a settled man in charge and we're doing so well he's wanted by the fucking national team.

I do not want to go back to the days of changing our manager every other year, we need continuity. Hoping above hope that he'll stay. Who'd want the hassle of the England job ffs?

Not that I disagree with most of your post but the first paragraph couldn't have less to do with things (apart from the bit about money) than had you written that he was catching the Starship Enterprise to watch a game between the Hogwarts eleven against Red Dwarfs holgram team in the 4th round of the intergalactic cup

If anything, as England manager, he'll be doing more travelling and taking in more games than he currently does as manager of Spurs.

THIS

I actually think this is quite a big thing. He has a base at here in london, but he is still very reluctant to use it any day of the week. Harry will nearly always go back to poole to sandra

Not sure if its just Spurs fans or football fans as a whole but we seem to have some of the most negative fans around. This just all reminds me of Modric and the summer.

I don't think he is. I reckon that's a rehashed article taken from a previous interview.

Read this one dated the day before.

The key phrase is this one.

Redknapp once described Gerrard as “more my cup of tea as England captain’’

Read the article. It doesn't sound to me like he's said anything that the Guardian have attributed to him in the very recent past.

He flew out to dubai last night so doubt its a fresh comment

Very little doubt that it's rehashed nonsense, but it's exactly the sort of thing that the press will be seizing on in the next few months if the situation isn't cleared up.

I just don't see how he can focus fully on Spurs when all of this is going on. Hope I'm wrong though.

I think the England job distraction will be less than the court case distraction, and he coped okay through that - not just the actual trial but the build-up.

We all have distractions, but we learn to compartmentalise them when required and get on with the job in hand. I think he'll do fine.

I think he'll be okay as long as he doesn't actually take the job on a part time basis. Still far from ideal though.

Did he though.
I think we were a team with the shackles off against Newcastle.
The Liverpool came at the very end of court proceedings and we looked slightly disjointed (especially in attack) - yeah, I know we had players missing and it was Anfield - but I think it did take its toll.

He wasn't at Anfield so we can't lay that performance at the door of court case stress.

I'll grant you the exceptional Newcastle performance must be partly down to relief of all concerned - that's only natural - but also there's a bit of the players making a point about wanting him to stay, and their reaction to the crowd's support - even more exuberant than usual - (and partly Newcastle kindly giving us the ball back whenever they got it.)

Anyhoo. He'll be okay. No way will he take a part time role between now and the end of the season, and until then the focus will be getting us into 2nd. Or slightly higher.
