Has been my rational choice for a while. Used to a bottom up strategy that encompasses development player integration. Plays a 433, possession based game.

Problem would be patience would again be required, and a lot of our fans are impatient idiots who think the tottenham way is to play eleven man ping pong with Lennon as mascot.

I completely agree with the lack of system being the key issue with our defence (along with our holding midfielders being constantly injured/dropped).

However, I don't like Liverpool as an example of what we should be aspiring towards, unless you consider their individual defenders to be significantly worse than ours. They've conceded almost as many goals as us (44 compared to our 49), and always look just as prone to making rookie mistakes at the back. As Liverpool haven't been repeatedly hammered by the big clubs, like we have, they must have conceded a lot more than us against the weak teams.

Their goal difference +52, ours...... +2. Doesn't matter what your defence is like if you're going to score two or three more than you let in.

The difference between FDB and AVB with us is Ajax do score goals, lets be honest if AVB's build up resulted in us winning games 2/3-0 while being in complete control we'd have lapped it up, but 0-0 with Bale saving us is not the same as a controlled possession game resulting in us being clinical and taking our chances and looking a top side, thats where I think FDB would come into his own, he's a bit more adaptive, he'll change it if the game isnt quite going to plan etc :)

Well then you better order some memory foam pillows if we get FDB as his method is exactly the same.

Slow controlled highline possession football looking to probe for spaces to create chances

AVBs Porto scored goals. Which is much farer comparison to FdBs Ajax, considering the strength of the respective leagues.

question is could FdB adapt his philosophy to the prem to get short term results while trying to build something long term.

Question is do the fans and Levy have the patience if it doesn't work instantly?

Yeh thats why I mentioned AVB with us as I personally dont think he setup anywhere near as attacking as he did for Porto, he was scared to even play Lamela for example. He was far too cautious which I think was a symptom of it not working out at Chelsea and him not being as adventurous in his attacking play as he set up his team with Porto. AVB after Porto would have been more interesting than AVB after Chelsea

But his Chelsea team had the same issues with slow attacking play.

No they don't
People (and most importantly Levy) need to give the man time even if it doesn't click from the start. Whatever happens it'll be whoever's first season in charge and success won't come straight away. We need to look at Liverpool giving Brendan time as an example.
