Sorry but as I'm currently aiming towards my coaching badges I fundamentally disagree with this.

Intelligence and talent is one thing (and I agree it is important) but a clear system that is understood and followed can make all the difference. Look at Liverpool currently, Skrtel, Flanagan, Johnson, Sakho aren't exactly world-beaters but they know the system and follow it. If coached properly then Naughton, Kaboul, Dawson, Lennon could all be a lot more effective. I'm less sold on Rose but that is down to his attitude more than anything else.
U can talk about coaching and systems all day long imvho but players I mentioned are just not good defenders , end of .. Dawson has all the right attitude on pitch but gets destroyed most weeks and just can't do basics good at all and for club out size it's unacceptable ... Rose naughton are not even championship standard

left field here....but Tony Pulis has turned Palace around in an amazing way - seen as old fashioned and yesterdays man perhaps but I think he'll challenge Rogers for manager of the season...

anyway back to FdB....something tells me it will Moyes and Manure all over again

So i take it you do not think the fans will be patient which was the question i asked.
I didn't answer, because the question is too broad. Now I am going to tell the future.

Some will and some won't. I would lay money on being correct too.

I completely agree with the lack of system being the key issue with our defence (along with our holding midfielders being constantly injured/dropped).

However, I don't like Liverpool as an example of what we should be aspiring towards, unless you consider their individual defenders to be significantly worse than ours. They've conceded almost as many goals as us (44 compared to our 49), and always look just as prone to making rookie mistakes at the back. As Liverpool haven't been repeatedly hammered by the big clubs, like we have, they must have conceded a lot more than us against the weak teams.

If we can see where the football is going then i would like to think people will be patient, if you are dropping this line in in direct regard to AvB then even the most reasonable and sane posters on here were becoming fed up with our static and turgid play.

I am not dropping it in any regard to any managers, lets wait and see what happens to our new manager after he loses a few games.

Bang on dude. It pisses me off when the line of 'the fans won't give him time' gets trawled out. AvB was going backwards, not forward, literally!! Even those who wanted him out though, including myself by the end of it, still wanted him given until the end of the season just for stability and the chance that he may have turned it around.

Very lazy posting by some of you!!

I find this comment probably the most frustrating ones in football. For some reason when results are not going our way (or the way of any team) the fans always seem to revert to childrens football tactics. This season especially we have seen a possession football team win (assuming Liverpool do) the league. We were the team which also had possession, we were the ones that were closing down the oposition increadibly quickly, giving them no time to play, yet we end up saying"we need to pass forward".

Yes, AVB made errors (not playing Sandro against Chelsea really sticks in my head as I thought they were there for the taking), and yes, we got some thumpings. But to say we were going backwards is just incorrect. The fact is that we gambled with Saldado, and Ade behaved like a child, getting himself excluded from the first team. Had either been firing as we know they can then AVB would have been safe.

It's not only that comment that frustrates me (and this isn't directed at you) but also the people that sigh when we pass sideways, are they actually retarded?

Id take Laudrup but I don't know why? (n)

It's because you know full well that, after 2 years, Levy is likely to sack whoever becomes our next manager, so you've subconsciously selected a manager who is just as likely to leave within years, regardless of Levy.

Not incorrect though is it, he took a team that finished 4th the previous season to 5th, and was looking like getting 6th/7th when he got sacked.

Comparing this year's Liverpool side to AVB's Tottenham? They are one of the best attacking forces I've seen in the Premier League. Under AVB this season we could barely muster a shot on goal.

Considering FDB was contacted by DL after AVB was sacked (and before TS was given the job only after FDB said not yet) and that RDB says his brother is ready to leave Ajax and that the other team that contacted him (Liverpool) are happy with theirs at the moment and that it is looking likely that LVG will go to Manure.

I am guessing that FDB is still at the forefront of DL's.

FDB would be just like AVB. The fans would get too impatient with the slow tempo and it'll all end in disaster if the results started to go. He's a decent manager but I really don't think this possession style is suited to the league. It has to be quicker tempo, sharp movement, pressing and counter attack to suit us. The Premier League is a completely different proposition to Holland and I just think he'd get found out here. That being said we could do worse.

In my opinion Pochettino ticks these sorts of boxes and that's why I'd prefer him to FDB.

I think he is the most likely of the younger group of managers (if he doesn't get picked up by a bigger club that is).

Being impatient will be the same whoever comes in, surely.
