So how realistic is it that Newcastle will get relegated? If we take Derby out of the equation, because they’re all but mathematically in the Championship, that leaves us with the following teams in danger of the drop:

Middlesbrough
Wigan
Reading
Newcastle
Sunderland
Birmingham
Bolton
Fulham

Next are my predictions of the above teams’ fixtures and results, for their final games in the Premiership this season.

Middlesbrough

Villa Vs M’bro = 0
Arsenal Vs M’bro = 0
M’bro Vs Derby = 3
Chelsea Vs M’bro = 0
M’bro Vs Man Utd = 0
Spurs Vs M’bro = 0
M’bro Vs Bolton = 1
Sunderland Vs M’bro = 1
M’bro Vs Portsmouth = 3
M’bro Vs Man City = 1

Points from remaining games: 9pts

Wigan

Wigan Vs Bolton = 1
Blackburn Vs Wigan = 1
Portsmouth Vs Wigan = 0
Wigan Vs B’ham = 0
Chelsea Vs Wigan = 0
Wigan Vs Spurs = 0
Wigan Vs Reading = 3
Villa Vs Wigan = 0
Wigan Vs Man Utd = 0

Points tally from remaining games: 5pts

Reading

Liverpool Vs Reading = 0
Reading Vs B’ham = 0
Reading Vs Blackburn = 1
Newcastle Vs Reading = 1
Reading Vs Fulham = 3
Arsenal Vs Reading = 0
Wigan Vs Reading = 0
Reading Vs Spurs = 1
Derby Vs Reading = 3

Points tally from remaining games: 9pts

Newcastle

B’ham Vs Newcastle = 0
Newcastle Vs Fulham = 3
Spurs Vs Newcastle = 0
Newcastle Vs Reading = 1
Portsmouth Vs Newcastle = 0
Newcastle Vs Sunderland = 1
West Ham Vs Newcastle = 1
Newcastle Vs Chelsea = 0
Everton Vs Newcastle = 0

Points tally from remaining games: 6pts

Sunderland

Sunderland Vs Chelsea= 0
Villa Vs Sunderland = 0
Sunderland Vs West Ham = 3
Fulham Vs Sunderland = 0
Sunderland Vs Man City = 1
Newcastle Vs Sunderland = 1
Sunderland Vs M’bro = 1
Bolton Vs Sunderland = 0
Sunderland Vs Arsenal = 0

Points tally from remaining games: 6pts

Birmingham

Portsmouth Vs B’ham = 1
B’ham Vs Newcastle = 3
Reading Vs B’ham = 3
B’ham Vs Man City = 1
Wigan Vs B’ham = 3
B’ham Vs Everton = 0
Villa Vs B’ham = 1
B’ham Vs Liverpool = 0
Fulham Vs B’ham = 3
B’ham Vs Blackburn = 1

Points tally from remaining games: 16pts

Bolton

Wigan Vs Bolton = 1
Man Utd Vs Bolton = 0
Bolton Vs Man City = 1
Bolton Vs Arsenal = 0
Villa Vs Bolton = 0
Bolton Vs West Ham = 1
M’bro Vs Bolton = 1
Spurs Vs Bolton = 0
Bolton Vs Sunderland = 3
Chelsea Vs Bolton = 0

Points tally from remaining games: 7pts

Fulham

Fulham Vs Everton = 0
Newcastle Vs Fulham = 0
Derby Vs Fulham = 3
Fulham Vs Sunderland = 3
Reading Vs Fulham = 0
Fulham Vs Liverpool = 0
Man City Vs Fulham = 0
Fulham Vs B’ham = 0
Portsmouth Vs Fulham = 1

Points tally from remaining games: 7pts

So, from those results we can establish the respective teams’ final league-table standing:

12) B’ham 42pts
13) M’bro 38pts
14) Reading 38pts
15) Newcastle 34pts
16) Sunderland 33pts
17) Bolton 32pts
18) Wigan 32pts
19) Fulham 27pts
20) Derby ?pts

So, basically Newcastle live to fight another season, and either Bolton or Wigan go down.

Obviously it's all a bit of fun, I don't know what the results are going to be (otherwise I'd be straight down Laddie-B's) and all that.

So what do you ladies and gentlemen think?

Away to Everton last game of the season could be a nasty one for Newcastle if they're still in danger - Everton should be fighting it out for a European spot.

Sadly, I reckon they'll survive, but I'll enjoy the panic! In a perfect world they'd go down and take Boro or Bolton with them!

Over the last six games:

Derby: 3pts
Fulham:
Boro: 8 points
Sunderland: 6 points
Brummies: 6 points
Reading: 6 points
Bolton: 5 points
Barcodes: 1 point
Wigan: 8 points

Extrapolating from which:

Boro: 42-43
Wigan: 40
Reading: 37
Sunderland: 36
Birmingham: 36
Bolton: 33-34
Barcodes: 32-33
Fulham: 30-31
Derby: 15

Ooh-er, missus!

And if it comes down to goal difference, Kev and the lads could be in deep doo-doo.

The other teams have got their mentality right because they have been in this fight for a while whereas Newcastle are only just realising the danger the are in, don't forget Alan Shearer said they are too good to go down only two weeks ago, I bet he don't think that now.
The other teams only need one more result than toon with their poor goals difference.
Answer this question, do you think Newcastle would have got a draw with arsenal at the weekend? no chance.

It's definently going to be interesting.

I have Newcastle safe by 2 points. If they drop 1 point and either Bolton or Wigan pick up at least another point, which is only a cheeky draw somewhere, Newcastle will more than likely go down because of their goal difference. If only they hadn't conceded 11 goals against Man Utd!

And another thing, even if they save themselves this year, are they going to be any good next year?

They've got an obscene wage bill, they're not going to be in europe, they need at least 4 new defenders and for the icing on the shit-stack, they've got Kevin Keegan as manager!

It's a shame we play them on the 30th March instead of the end of April cause we were the first team they played on their return to the top flight, and it would be great to relegate them.

Just watch the rats jump ship if they do go down. They might struggle to come back up for a while.

in their last 6 games they have 1 point! Their home form isn't much better than their away! They have 9 games left 5 away I can only see them picking up maybe 1 point from the away games. The home games are against Chelsea Sunderland Reading and fulham none of much are going to be easy, I think they are going down!

I think the key game is Fulham at home

If they win this i think that they will survive, if they don't I can seriously see them heading for the trap door.

Hope newcastle go down. how funny would that be! King Kev???
Said it at the time....it was a mistake bringing him back.

At the mo its the points Big Sam won for them that are keeping them out the relegation zone!

I'd like Bolton and Newcastle to follow Derby down

but it's probably Derby, Fulham and either Sunderland or Wigan

I'd love it if both Newcastle & Bolton went down, I doubt they will though, I think it'll be Derby, Fulham & Sunderland.
