Can someone enlighten me please as to why this is only a four test series and not five?

Surely having a best of five brings about a higher chance of a proper result rather than 2 2.

Good point. Running out of time I guess given the mini series against Sri Lanka earlier and need to shoehorn in plenty of lucrative one day games before the evenings draw in in late August.

Great series and all credit to Pakistan who played some really good cricket in a great spirit.
Really poor test match for England. Bowling was below par, 'catching' was a joke and the batting line up needs some major surgery if we are to improve and take on Australia. I have seen enough to dispense with Hales, Ballance and Vince (who is the worst batsmen I have seen in an England team for many years unfortunately)
Although Bairstow more than earns his place as a batsman I am not convinced he is a test class keeper where again missed catches and stumpings can cost dearly.

Vince is the worst test batsman for many years? He really isn't. I think he needs to reign himself in but he looks more than capable of playing this level. It is a disappointing match but I don't think we need to go overboard with changes.

Plus I don't think we need to worry about Australia just yet, we have a tough winter coming up.

We will have to agree to differ on this. He hangs his bat out to dry for me and gets squared up too many times. Looks like the opposition bowlers smell blood every time he comes to the crease. Hope I am proved wrong as want the guy to succeed but he will be lucky to get a tour place after this summer and might now melt back into obscurity. His one chance is that there does not seem to be many ready replacements waiting in the wings.

Would you go to Bangladesh or not?

I understand the decisions not to go and really dont understand why they either cant defer it or play it elsewhere.

Not sure if id go just for a cricket game.

I was asked to go to Giza for some work a long time ago and was told id have UN security etc i was still like fuck that shit. I know this isnt Giza etc but the extra security doesnt really guarantee safety.

Middlesex 2-2. Good to see us save the worst performance of the season for the most important fixture. I support the Spurs of cricket. :(

Thrilling end to the county championship. Middlesex needs 10 wickets to win and Yorkshire needs to chase down 240 in 40 overs while Somerset needs the match to end in a draw. Yorkshire are currently 48/3

Somerset players spitting feathers on Twitter over Middlesex declaration!!
They basically think Middlesex should have carried on batting towards a draw so that the title is theirs.
Makes perfect sense to me that you'd want to give yourself the best opportunity to win the match and the title and at 101-4 it's right in their hands.

Good stuff! None of them my team but what a finish. Sorry for Somerset, but can't begrudge Middlesex the win.

Starting to really like Buttler as captain, I'd like to know what got him so riled up.
Looks like we've fucked this one though.

Excellent win for England, tough circumstances. Youngsters played very well, lots of selection dilemmas when everyone is available.

Precariously placed in this test already. Conditions do look horrible to be fair, the bit I saw this morning.

Bangladesh 220 all oh after being 171/1

Great bowling from Moen and backed up well by the oaks. Let's hope our openers can stay in for more than a couple of overs.
