He's the complete opposite of Ballance, looks like he's played 50 tests, very very composed.

That was immensely impressive. 19, playing in India, been in the field for two days (and often under the lid at short leg)... Comes out and looked class. Even managed to look more assured and unflappable than Cook, which takes some doing.

Only the start, but what an impressive start.

Rashid looks a different bowler this test. I hope he can keep it up because he really does have everything

There was nearly a danger of a cricket match breaking out this morning.

Shocking scenes.

Great performance from England, confidence going into the next test... India missed a trick by not preparing a wicket suited to them! I have a feeling we wont be seeing a pitch like that for the rest of the test series now... will be a real good test for the English boys, I hope Hameed carries on, the lad looked absolutely at home, almost rahul dravid, joe root esq.

So close, I feel we were conservative in our declaration as always, could have got another 10 overs but still may not have been enough.

I'm still not sure if that was a good pitch or not... It had some bounce and grass which is nice for the sub continent but when the openers on day five (including a young debutant) are finding it so easy to bat it could be better.

Will probably turn out to be the best pitch of the series with the usual slow low turners getting slower and lower coming up, cos everyone wants to see a two innings test of 645-3

Agree with you on that mate, England missed a chance to go 1 up I feel. India will come back all guns blazing on slow low turners and they're an absolute menacing team on those kind of pitches.

Disappointing to lose Cook late on. I'd be tempted to change the batting lineup slightly and bung Duckett right at the back behind Broad and Anderson. He'll only try and slog and get out cheaply. I'd put Moeen in with Root tomorrow morning and continue with the rest of the order from there. Someone's going to have to come with some batting disciplinary magic for us to see out the final day. It's not very likely but I do think it can be done.

We can score 318 runs. Unlikely but possible.

I think with Cook still there we had a chance, I think that chance is now gone unfortunately.
Love to be proven wrong but I think it'll be over before I wake up tomorrow.

We only scored 87 runs in 60 overs we are not scoring 318 in 90 overs on that pitch.
Only hope we have is to block out and try to hold on for a draw

Poor mo hits 146 and scores 1000+ run in the year and he still gets stick and all the experts saying he should be batting down the order

England showing as much backbone as a worm. I know India are very good but losing the last six wickets for 15 is pathetic.
