Here, here's another that I beat you to (If its true) :D

Rajasthan Royals have sacked Smith as their IPL captain according to a text I just received from my Australian mate
Any of the players will lose their contracts in the IPL i think. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Contrary to what you lovely English folk think, we Aussie's hate cheats. It's not in our DNA. Sure there have been occasions over the years but its simply not the done thing. And for the national Cricket team to do it. Fuck me.

Unfortunately for Smith and it appears Warner, there will be no coming back from this.

Is that as a player or just as captain?
Thats gonna cost him fair bit of wedge lol.
No idea I'm afraid. I think this is going to cost him more than his IPL earnings, I can see sponsors dropping him like a hot brick too. Also, if he gets sacked as Captain, can he ever play for the Australian team again, just as a player? Maybe, but not for a year or two I would have thought.

I've never liked Smith or the way he carries on and I take no pleasure from his plight really, but Warner? If he gets sacked and banned too I'll dance naked down Oxford Street with a pair of Kookaburra balls tied to my nutsack. Him I hate with a passion and I hate that stupid caterpillar he grows on his top lip even more.

Just makes me laugh that whenever you lot are involved in cricket, bad things happen..you dont hear about bad tempered games between any other nations, it only seems to be when its against Australia, no smoke without fire as they say.

Yeah Warner is very easy to dislike, although Smith comes quite close as well.
It completely fucks their batting lineup really if you take those two out for any length of time.

I get the feeling they'll just be suspended for a bit then make grovelling apologies and return...whereas if they weren't so integral they'd probably be out on their ears for good.

So are we going with the assumption that Lehman didn't actually know prior to the game, saw the footage and grabbed the walkie to the 12th man with a, "Get out there and find out what the fuck he's doing, mate - the whole world just saw him fuckin' with the ball"?

He's not said a word, no-one has mentioned his name during any of the articles apart from referring to him calling in the 12th man after the first clip.

I'm assuming he was in on it from the start. A massive number of former players have suggested there's no way he didn't know.

You could be right but if they do, I can't see them being trusted with captaincy roles ever again. Obviously I'm a total guesser but I think a one year ban would probably do all parties a favour, Cricket Australia would be seen to be taking their responsibilities seriously and Smith would be seen to be adequately punished by many and could possibly be eased back in that way because IMO there needs to be a period without him so that this all dies down and doesn't dominate everything every time they play.

In Warner's case a life ban is the way forward for the sake of common decency, the man is an oily **** :D

Obviously there are going to be those who say neither should ever play for them again, they could be right. Like I said, I'm a guesser :D

I personally think thats what happened, and knowing people who know him personally, i think thats spot on. Be very surprised if he did have knowledge.

Fair play to Cricket Australia's noises on this. I appreciate the anger of the poster earlier but I have sympathy for the other players particularly youngsters. I felt the same when Amir was done for the betting scandal. Deserves stiff punishment but also the opportunity to come back and make amends.

Lehmann Smith and Warner are the only ones whose necks should be on the chopping block in terms of their careers being jeopardised, imo.

Regardless of you poms personal opinions of Warner :))) I personally dont feel they can ever come back. You lot will be happy. But the games bigger than the individual. We will recover and come back stronger for it.

I lived in Australia in the mid 70s and sat horrified as I listened to Dennis Lillee tell a children's TV audience whereabouts in the face he liked to hit English batsmen. Contemporaneously, I recall Jeff Thompson writing that he liked to see English blood on the wicket. Years later, as I watched a NZ/Australia limited overs game (having moved to NZ) I watched the infamous Trevor Chappell delivery. I can tell you, no one in NZ has forgotten that.

So what's new? Australians are disreputable sportspeople, in every code, in every way.

Thommo and Lillee played the game for keeps. Tell me Freddie Trueman didn't feel the same way. Don't be a hypocrite. As for the underarm, it was fucking wrong, but, at the time within the rules. Greg Chappells lowest point on an otherwise amazing career.
