Broads performance just proves what a disgraceful decision it was to leave him out of the last test.
Also has anybody noticed the amount of catches dropped off of his bowling last two years he must have had at least 15 to 20 catches dropped off his bowling and its good to see consistency with three catchable chances being dropped in this first Windies innings.

Agree.
But the amount of dropped catches off all the bowlers, has been unacceptable. The slip fielding in the last few years, has been awful.

Who do you point the finger at though? Bayliss seems as lost for an answer as any fan, so is it just shitty form aligning like planets?

No idea.
Its been mentioned the slip cordons too close together, the wrong players are in there, too much chopping and changing.
God knows, maybe their just crap at catching, its not got any better.

Lets face it though this pitch was made for Broad. Not sure he would've been as effective on the first test pitch.
Never seen such a green pitch, I've seen browner greens at majors...

Having said that Curran is not really doing it for me, looks another bits and pieces player, Like Mark Ealham reincarnate (but LH)

Too many wicket keepers trying to field without gloves on, that's the problem. put them in the slips and they get PGS (phantom glove syndrome)

We truly are atrocious at the moment. I wonder what captain cherub will have to say.

The improvement in the West Indies cricket team is quite something but even so, we're not even giving them a game.

Shocking batting, Burns gives slip practice, Bairstow just wafts his bat, and Denly doesn't even play a shot, woeful!

Have they improved that much or are we just making them look good?

Their bowlers have stuck to a good line and length bowling at a good pace and ours haven’t.
Their batsmen dug in,played the conditions and didn’t give their wickets away, ours didn’t.

Broad/Stokes/Anderson bowled well so you have to give them credit for their batting although they rode their luck at times. Our batting is much worse than their bowling is good though

Been so impressed with the Windies patience with the bat

That’s been the difference for me. Left the ball well and made us work very hard for our wickets

Looks like we all underestimated them after they got turned over by Bangladesh

This West Indies side has some impressive young cricketers atm
(Bring on the collapse as we bowl them out for 80!!!)

They are ranked 8th in the ICC rankings so yeah, I'd say they have improved in all respects, their batting especially. They aren't world beaters by any means but they have been totally crap and not that long ago.

I get your point and I’m sure they have improved but we are still making them look good they are not doing anything that special to bowl us out cheaply, their non turning part time spinner got an 8for in the last test

What’s happened to an England forward defensive!!

Bairstow and Alli such loose shots it’s unbelievable. Decent balls well pitched up bowled through a gate wider than Marble Arch

Shocking

Root needs to be stripped of the captaincy. The top order has been disgracefully shit for 2 years now. They’ve relied on England’s bowlers but with them performing poorly, the failure by these “batsmen” is far clearer.

Fck me! they ain't gonna make day 4. There's been some great bowling from the West Indies, but England just don't have any patience. They are unable to go 6 balls without having a hack at it. Ali this time, just a fcking waft. Incredible!
