Root is killing me. He puts them into bat but then goes to a fairly defensive field as soon as we bring our best swing bowler on. So many of the boundaries have come from an edge.

Well Stokes bowling pants hasn't helped.

"Loose English bowling, and controlled Australian batting putting away the plentiful bad balls"

Sometimes Root isn't entirely to blame.

True and i guess he can't just keep throwing the ball the Archer and Broad but my word Stokes and Woakes are both going at a run a ball. I don't know maybe I just want to see that Captain get about the bowlers a bit more and give them a kick up the arse.

That was 11 overs of less than average from two bowlers, one an opening bowler, that have completely let the Aussies back in to this game. Add to that some average fielding with over throws and the fielders on their heels allowing for singles and singles being turned into twos. Not good enough from Woakes and Stokes.

To be fair I think England have been a bit unlucky, given that Warner missed 3/4 of the balls he tried to hit for the first hour.
