Root: "We've got a lot of hard work to do to make sure we come back in the last two games."

Seriously, fuck off. Come back now :cautious:

I feel bad for the bowlers - thought they bowled well throughout (exception of Leach) it was the batting collapse letting us down like dominos.

This is funny and unacceptable on so many levels.

What a skipper Cummins is. Inspirational captaincy. Aussies couldn’t have won 3-0 so fucking easily without his immense wisdom and decision making!

Wow! Just seen the score. Fair play to those who have continued to watch that shower of shite through the night.

The ECB review is gonna be good when this nightmare is finally over and the whitewash is done.
They neglected test cricket when the white ball game hit rock bottom, and put everything into sorting that out. And they'll do the same with test team now, no doubt to the detriment of the ODI side.

One day they'll get the balance right.

Is this debacle totally the fault of the obsession the players have with earning big money, in white ball cricket... The shine has gone for red ball cricket now(sorry poor pun) ?

Pat Cummins has a great chance of being a successful Australian captain if he can play England at home every fucking week….

I'd be very surprised if that happened. The ECB's made it fairly clear over the last few years they prefer TV-friendly shorter formats.

Yeah maybe. But they just seem incapable of improving one without destroying the other. And test cricket is still just about too important to the country I reckon.

Silverwood talking rubbish... There are no good points to take from this defeat... Only humiliation... How do these people get their jobs... and how do they keep them?

There are positives, quite clearly at the end of the series both himself and root will be removed from their positions with immediate effect.
This sums up the last four years for me.

I'm lost for words. bit it's not really a shock is it. until the ECB give two hoots about test cricket, the team won't get any better. certainly won't get any better with these two clowns leading the test side.

hopefully we never see the likes of Burns, Bairstow, Leach, and Buttler in red ball cricket again. not sure what Jimmy and Broad will do, which is sad.

not sure where we go from here to be honest - right now i never want to watch this team in a test match again.

Sir Ian Botham was quite vocal about ringing the changes next test. Wants to know why Alex Lees cant be brought out. Made a hundred with the lions then sent home. He was baffled as that hundred was in trying conditions. When beefy speaks i listen, as he has a great cricket brain.
From our perspective, what a stroke of genius it was bringing Scotty Boland in for this match. On his home deck and he knows it better than anybody and his record speaks for itself. The crazy thing is he will probably make way for Hazelwood next game who will play on his home deck. Crazy depth at the moment in the bowling mix.
4 overs 6 for seven. Absolute man of the match. Well done Scott Boland. Well deserved.

Silverwood needs to go now and Root needs to be stripped of the captaincy and his mates removed from selection

they also sent home the best wicket keeper in the country, and the only two spinners who actually turn the ball.

the lions team would beat the test side hands down, and you could also add players like Livingstone, Billings, Clarke, Salt to that Lions side.

Yes I know about Foakes and I believe he is an ok batsman.
Know about Liam Livingstone, Sam Billings and Phil Salt. All played over here in Big Bash. (Do not believe Salt will ever , ever be a test player. Played with the Strikers here in Adelaide and only knows one way. Its a no from me.)
Livingstone and Billings both have enormous ability, but is the patience there? Maybe we will see.
George Garton playing with the Strikers this season. Him I like. You dont seem to have a tall left armer coming through. Looks ok for me. Worth persistance as he is young.

agreed, i like the look of Garton. but we seem to break any fast bowler we have.

you may be right about Salt, but i look at players like him and Livingstone and think they have the technique and attitude/arrongance to be good. but then i championed Jason Roy ao what do i know.

in all honesty though, they couldn't do any worse than Burns, Hameed, Crawley, Buttler, Bairstow, Pope etc.

Lees i don't know much about, but like you said, when Beefy speaks, you listen.

on that note, we seem to have really marginalised those outspoken experienced ex-players. the ECB want meek yes-men like Giles and Collingwood.
