I thought it was more of a reference to the fact it is renewed daily.
Surely by that logic the opening post should be deelted as it contains yesterdays ITK?
Or at least name it, ITK roundup 9/8 and todays ITK 10/8 ONLY.
That would make more sense.

The ITK moderation is the one bit of this site that gets my goat a little. I just don't understand why it has to be so strict and authoritarian. I'm not complaining, I just don't get it. I can only assume the mods get lots of complaints via PM or something.

The opening post is a round-up of the previous days ITK.
The idea is that as ITK is posted it is discussed here, the rest of transfer discussion goes in the player threads. If it's a slow day, then really there shouldn't be any posts in here. If you want to chat about a player it should be done in the player thread. So talking about a Bellamy interview should be in the Craig Bellamy thread, as it's got nothing to do with any ITK today. If we discussed everything in here regarding any linked player it would be an absolute mess and it'd be a nightmare to find any actual info. To be honest, it's a pretty simple structure. I understand the want to just camp out in here and discuss everything here, but it's not really the best way.

It makes it easy to be honest. pop on here once an hour and you are up to date rather than having to dart between threads.

We moderate info to make sure stuff isn't just being posted as info from rubbish sites, or we have a whole host of WUMs just thinking it'll be fun to post stuff. It protects the actual ITKs, and it means people get less wound up.

To be honest it is massively more relaxed in here than in previous windows.
There's never going to be one solution that pleases everyone on here, just like there is never going to be one style of modding/rumour ranging that is applied.

This forum is for ITK though, there's been one bit today, you can see that because there is a thread, any discussion in here should really be here. This is the way we're doing it, at the end of every window we give people the opportunity to feed back on how it works. It's been the same as this for a few windows now so there shouldn't really be an excuse.
Maybe you need to be a little less lazy and use the right threads.
Say someone gets in from work tonight and sees there is new info from POTL, he's got to search through 11 pages of what mostly is rubbish, and nothing to do with the ITK posted. Is that easy or a good user experience?

It's more a case of ensuring that what ITK is posted here (whether from other sites or on SC) is protected from abuse and unreasonable attacks on the integrity of the person providing it.
Over the years we've lost some terrific sources of quality information for one reason or another and the most common is that they tend to drift away after being the centre of a torrent of questioning and abuse which is not cricket (or football)!
So we monitor carefully.
This system has evolved over many windows and is presently deemed to be the best working style of presentation. We debrief at the end of each window and look to see if any tweaks can make it any better as in for example sms texts of ITK etc.
We don't get many, if any complaints regarding this style of presentation and indeed we do get a good impression of how it has gone after the window has gone from feedback in this very forum.

In the past this thread has run to dozens of pages, not many of them being remotely connected to the ITK.

I understand (and completely support) the ITK verification, and the ban on ITK bashing.
What I mean is the "that's off-topic" stuff.
It is yes, and personally I've found that much improved.
I know you do this shit for free, and I appreciate it. I'm not having a go.

I think we should make a forum for each member so that they can have what they want in a particular way, then everyone would be happy.
But someone would probably moan because there would be no-one to talk to in their own private sub-forum of ITK.
CONSTANTLY changing the format is massivley boring and a massive ball-ache. Every single bloody window. You don't see any of the people on any other sites moaning about how stuff is presented, and just because we dared to make a smidgen of effort to try and make your lives easier we get almost daily moans of people not having exactly how they would do it.
It gets tedious and one of the reason why so many of us get disillusioned with this particular side of the site. We're not after medals - the site staff know that you don't do something for free and expect massive praise; we in fact have learnt to expect the opposite - but that doesn't make it any less annoying given how much goes in to all of this behind the scenes.

It is quite simple though Rax, you wouldn't do it in any other part of the site, so I don't get why people do it in this forum when it's pretty simply laid out.

its probably better if some went to different sections from time to time as well (Chat, Spurs Chat, ect)
Plenty to talk about in these parts of the forum while waiting on some ITK.
There is a thread if you want to sujest any improvemnt as well (PT mentioned it, and some have been using the thread below already)
