Both would be incredible but if I had to choose one it would be Chiesa who is a sensational player. If we managed to get one or even both of them and also bring in another defender then this would have probably been our best transfer window in a very very long time.

What's Juve's financial state? Do they just need cash on their books or do they need cash up front?

Us getting the best part of 80m up front for Kane might be quite the leverage, otherwise I don't see us affording both of them (and barely one of them).

Name reveal

Initially, Vlahovic and Chiesa were the coveted players in the team's strategy after Kane's departure, prior to Paratici's ban. Despite the setback, his ongoing involvement means that both players are still viable options within the team's budget. It's worth noting that Juventus has currently rejected any approach, but the right amount of money could potentially change their stance. Considering the situation, my feeling is that if we pursue more aggressively, only one of these players will likely be secured.

Ange likes the players and thinks they would suit his system

Amazing thanks for sharing mate.

I seriously doubt we’d get both, if it’s one then as I’m partly Italian I’m biased towards Chiesa! He’s mainly a LW however but can play as a striker or RW and would very well in Ange’s system across all front 3 positions.

I highly doubt Juve would sell both.

Both top players and would be happy with either. We need 2 new attacking players if it’s one of them and one slightly younger lower budget one and another CB then fine but if we can get both then that would be an absolutely huge statement.

Let’s see but nice to hear we are targeting those types of players, as Ange says ‘replace greatness with greatness’.

Sounds like the focus on departures could be the bit where get unstuck. Especially if any incomings are dependent on that. As we have demonstrated time and again that we struggle relinquishing deadwood. Very disappointed to hear that’s the strategy, but also understand it’s the reality of having a massively bloated squad. Given that, I have a very hard time seeing being able to bring in two players, let alone three by the end of the window.

Fingers crossed for a miracle.

I share your admiration for Chiesa, but in all honesty, I think Vlahovic would better meet the team's needs. A true goal scorer is essential, and Vlahovic could serve as the primary focal point, addressing that requirement. While Chiesa would bring valuable qualities to complement the team, having Dusan as the central figure could offer the desired firepower.

I have the feeling they always need cash but have too many ways to somehow ignore that need.

Focus is now on creating space for new signings. The club aims to bring in at least 3 new players and potentially see as many as 7 departures. The primary objective is to clear out underperforming players, allowing for better-quality additions to come in to support Ange until the next transfer window.

I like the sound of that. The market in Saudi should make it easier to shift a few.

Vlahovic Yes please, Chiesa no thanks. After his ACL injury, he has not been the same. Love the player, but not the same player anymore, unfortunately..

Both would be the kind of statement we should be making, would be a huge lift given everything that’s happened. I understand the need and somewhat difficult task to move some more of the fringe players on though.

💯 mate, I'd take DV first.

That strong focal point through the middle who can bury a whole load of chances is the priority.

Imagine Maddison sticking them on his head not to dissimilar to how he combined with kane against Shaktar

I am hopeful this time around that the deadwood will be more receptive to leaving knowing they probably won't play a minute all season with us being out of Europe. There's less opportunity to impress the manager in other competitions, and there's reduced likelihood of first team players being injured. If you play for Spurs right now and you've been told you should leave then it's silly to stay really. I think we'll see a flurry of sales and loans on deadline day.

Very bad financial state mate!

But as we know Italian clubs find ways of manipulating their accounts 😅

Meanwhile, a wider challenge looms. In 2022, Juventus’s revenues slumped 8%, while its operating costs increased 7.6%. In the past five years, the club has asked shareholders for cash injections of €700m (£619m) to cover losses of €612.9m. “It’s as if there’s been a sinkhole,” Giovanni Cobolli Gigli – chair of Juventus between 2006 and 2009 – told me. “There has been this continuous chasing of revenues when what they should have been doing was limiting the disproportionate and senseless costs.”

as of December 2022 Juventus Football Club had €376.2m of debt, an increase on €216.7m, over one year. However, because it has a cash reserve of €54.9m, its net debt is less, at about €321.4m
